About a week later, a  piercing scream woke me up. I immediately sat up in my bed, wondering what had happened. I thought it might be my sister, trying to mess with me. Jumping to my conclusion too quick, I decided it was nothing, and walked to my bathroom to brush my teeth. The image I saw startled me.

“Nice job Ruby, ketchup on my mirror. You can come out of the shower now.”

I laughed thinking I had got her. I reached out to open the shower curtain, to find nothing but a runny faucet with few drops of water in the tub. Quickly I turned, thinking someone was in the room with me. No one and nothing was there except for a big knife. It was too big to come from the kitchen. Suddenly startled, I ran into Ruby’s room to tell her this wasn’t funny. I looked down at her white carpet that was now red, with her blood. She lay next to it with still eyes. Even though I knew it couldn’t be, a little part of me still thought she was pranking me. I leaned down desperately trying to “wake” her.

“Ruby?” I screeched.

I then realized she couldn’t keep her eyes open for so long. My sister was dead. Who would do this to her? My whole body sank in sadness and cried on her stomach. I pulled away from her when I heard another scream. This time from my parents room. I rushed to their room and found nothing but my mom and dads body’s clasped. I knew now, I was next.  I heard a laugh coming from the doorway. I looked over and saw a man in a long black coat and mask. Suddenly the door crashed shut. I was trapped.
