Chapter 1
Feeling like a wave on the ocean and my eyes closed, I see my parents and sister pulling out of the slanted driveway, from the direction of my bedroom window.  Only two yards into the road the car bursts into flames. I tried so hard to pull them out quickly. With that one explosion, I flew back, the mirrors hit into the red bricks of the house, and my parents and sister were gone forever.  Coming back, I’m at the state championship basketball game taking a free shot. Inside a worn-down gym the temperature was high. My light brown hair was wet with sweat, and a cut on my top lip from my blue braces. I shoot the ball and once it hit the rim there was a gunshot, and my little brother was laying on the ground screaming and crying my name, “Brandon Brandon!” After getting rushed to the hospital Michael barely survived.  I was officially on the hunt for who ever kept hurting the people I love.
“Michael always keep your pocket knife on you,” Brandon declared.
“I will, love you bye”, Michael added.
“Just stay safe and watch your surroundings.  Love you too, bye.”
After Michael left for school Brandon decided to sluff school to investigate everything that has happened in the last six months.  He knew that if he sluffed he might not graduate from school, but he didn’t care he wanted to find out who had it out for his loved ones and what they would do next.  While he was looking at the clues from all the situations, he was standing outside Michael’s school. He thought that a shadow of a creeper passed by, and it creeped him out.  When he turned around, he saw that it was just a puppy.
“Hey, buddy are you lost?” Brandon questioned the puppy.
“Woof,” barked the puppy.
“Here I’ll take you home and we'll see if we can find your owner.”
All of the sudden Brandon had the idea of having the puppy sniff out the culprit that hurt his family and might be planning to hurt him and his little brother.  Then out of the blue the speakers of the school came on with static and a strange voice.
“I can see you Brandon and I am going to kill your brother Michael,” the mysterious voice stated with a cracking tone.
“Leave my brother alone, he didn’t do anything to you!” Brandon exclaimed.
“I will do whatever it takes to take you down and keep you outta my way,”
“Who are you and why do you want to take me and my loved ones down?”
“You don’t need to know that because...eek!”
Screaming came from the speaker all because the person trying to take Brandon down saw a spider.
“911, how can i help you?” Police Department asked.
“Help, there is this crazy guy saying he going to kill my brother at East Creek Middle school!” Brandon screamed.
“ Swat is on the way, but whatever you do stay away.”
“Hurry!”
Brandon didn’t care what the police had to say, he was going in to fight the creeper and keep the rest of his family safe.  Sneaking around the corners in the hallway of the school Brandon slowly made his way to the main office to find out who this person was and why they were going to take him down.  With nothing to protect himself he went inside the office to fight the person if he needed to protect Michael. He finally got to office to find his brother tied up in the corner.  A tall person with a black mask on was standing in front of him.
“Let my brother go,”  Brandon demanded.
“Why would I?” the person asked.
“If not, I will hurt you and I really don’t want to.”
“Just give me your father’s famous belt buckle.”
“ So, all you want is a belt buckle, and you killed three people and tried to kill another person over it?”
“Don’t worry about it!”
“I will worry because you took most of my family away and I don’t want that to continue.”
“Then give it!”
“No!”  “Who are you anyways?”
All of a sudden there was this loud banging on the door.
“Go away,” the killer said.
Then the door was broken down by swat to take the killer away for life.  When they captured the guy Brandon ran over to his brother and untied him.  They turned around and the mysterious person was unmasked. It turned out to be the boss of Brandon’s father named Johnny.
“Wow, so you killed my family all over a stupid buckle?” Brandon asked.
“No, the buckle isn’t just any buckle it was my dad’s,” Johnny stated.
    “It came from my grandpa!”
“Well, here it goes, I’m your uncle.”
“You decided to kill your own family as well over a piece of metal?”
    “Let’s go!” the police demanded.
Brandon and Michael can now live their lives in safety without having to watch everywhere they look for a creeper that was trying to kill them.  They both wonder why their father and mother didn’t tell them that Johnny was their uncle and was willing to kill for the famous belt buckle of a great bull rider that was in their family from five generations back.
Both of the boys were growing up and never forgetting what happened to them and their family.  They thought about their parents and sister everyday, but they couldn’t change what had happened in the past.  Brandon had to get held back in his senior year because he sluffed again and he didn’t care he was protecting his brother.  They both found out this other mystery about their family and they wanted to find out more about it.
