Muriel {Surprise}

Prompt: MC goes off to market for a surprise for Muriel for his birthday but MC doesn't come home for a while and Muriel gets worried(credit for this prompt goes to my best friend who I asked to come up with a prompt for a Muriel story cuz she loves him. This is for her)

(Y/N) was walking down the busy streets of the shopping district. Looking around, the (H/C) girl sighed, trying to think of something she could buy for her beloved Muriel for his birthday.

"He likes eel... Maybe I can cook him some food?" She muttered to herself as she wandered around, deep in thought.

As she walked around, her eyes fell on a jade green pendant in the shape of a heart (not the same one MC has for Asra). Her (E/C) orbs sparkled as she approached the pendant, a big smile on her face as she looked at the vendor of the jewelry stall.

"How much for the jade pendant??" (Y/N) asked excitedly, pulling out a pouch of money.

The vendor told her the price and (Y/N) contemplated it for a bit, the pendant being highly expensive and would take most of her money. She then thought of how happy Muriel would be once he say the gift and caved.

"Deal." She handed the vendor the money before he handed her the pendant.

The jade heart glistened in the sun, the beauty of the pendant making (Y/N) smile as she tucked it into her coat. She then turned around to go find a stall that was selling eel so that she could make Muriel some of his favorite food for dinner.

"(Y/N)?" Muriel called out as he entered the hut, looking around for the girl he had fallen in love with. "(Y/N)?"

When he didn't get a reply, Muriel grew anxious as he assumed something bad happened while he wasn't around.

"(Y/N)!?" Muriel called out, Innana sniffing as she searched for a trail of (Y/N)'s scent.

She grabbed Muriel's pants and tugged, growling a bit as she then began to run off, Muriel following close behind as they made their way into the marketplace, some people jumping or screaming when they saw Innana rushing through the crowds - most likely frightened by the fact that there was a wolf running around the market.
Then I saw them.

"(Y/N)!" I shouted, grabbing her hand and gently holding it. "W-why didn't you leave a note or anything! I was worried!"

My lip trembled as I looked into her (E/C) eyes, her hand gripping mine back. A smile graced her lips as she brought my hand to them moments later, a gentle kiss pressed to my knuckles sending heat spreading across my cheeks.

"Muriel, I was just getting some things for you." She smiles and held out some presents for me. "And I'm making your favorite tonight for dinner."

A small smile formed on my face as she hugged me, a sigh escaping me as I pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

"Surprise." She said and I let out a soft chuckle.

"Thank you, (Y/N)." I replied as I ruffled her (H/C) hair.

"I love you!~" She cooed as she poked my nose.

"I-I love you, too." I stuttered a bit as my face heated up some more.

I pursed my lips and looked to the side, a bit flustered as she hopped up and kisses my chin. I smiled and held her hand as we walked back to the hut with Innana.
