During his first year of high school, if someone asked Hinata Shouyou what was the most important thing for him, he would respond without any hesitation only one thing: volleyball.
The thought of being able to play was that thing that gave him the strength of getting up in the mornings.
The loud sound of his heartbeat in his hears, his sharp eyes that followed diligently the ball, the adrenaline in his veins.
A glance between him and the person that, despite everything, was the one he trusted the most.
He didn't need anything else.
The sweet that comes down his forehead, the muscles that tended, a sprint, a jump with all the strength that he had in his legs.
That moment.
The moment when he was in mid-hear and he could clearly see the other side of the court, the moment when his hand touched the ball, slapped it with all he had, with the security that it would land in the other side of the net.
That moment when the ball really touched the ground, with a sound that in reality wasn't that loud, but that in Shouyou's hears was deafening.
That moment when he felt his body being overwhelmed by euphoria, eyes wide and awed, it didn't metter how many times he did it.
That eyes that immediately lended on the black haired guy that was smiling near him.
That smile.
That instant when he forget of the game for a second, thinking that he would like to see that smile, genuine and beautiful, more often.
That moment when they started yelling, and Shouyou couldn't do a thing to stop thinking how much he liked the sound of their voices together.
That moment when at the end of a game, it didn't metter if they loose or if they won, they would all hug.
That moment when Shouyou felt a particular touch on the shoulder, something friendly and intimate, and his body trembled.
And exactly one year later, a February evening of his second year of high school, Hinata Shouyou asked himself how the hell he'd been that stupid.
How could he not notice?
