T'is my singing persona Kio and her genderbend, Kioya! xD
I guess I haven't really gone into the details of why I chose Kio as a name alongside Kris, but since I'm right and bored now it's story time! :3
Kris came a lot earlier, about three years ago I think? It was because my username used to be 'Krysina', and because it sounded sorta overly fancy I shortened my nickname to 'Kris' in the coming years.
As for Kio, it's an weird story xD It started last year when I started out on Smule. I really liked this singer called REOL (pronounced reh-o-ru for Japanese), so I kind of twisted things a little bit and replaced the R with a K, so it ended up as Kioru. Then people started just calling me Kio, and that felt a lot better.
A little while ago I thought about it, and I thought I'd base it on to Kioku instead of Kioru. Kioku means 'memory' in Japanese, and I thought it made more sense to me because singing is one of my favourite things about life, and lots of my good memories include singing - onstage, with friends, with family. People still call me Kio though, even my irl friends from overseas 😂
As for why the genderbend's named Kioya, a group of mine did a genderbend song collab, and a male friend Dan just came up with my genderbend's name because of GUMI's genderbend Gumiya.
I'll be surprised if anyone actually read all of this owo
