“Are Kirstie, Avi, and Kevin still coming over for dinner tonight?” Mitch called to Scott from the kitchen. “Because if they aren’t, I’m not cooking!”
Scott laughed. “Yes, they are still coming over. They want to see our new apartment.” Mitch and Scott had moved in together the past week after about 7 months of dating and were so excited to be living together. Kirstie, Avi, and Kevin were coming over to celebrate and if everything went as planned, help Scott out with his plan. The best part was, Mitch was absolutely clueless.
Ever since Mitch said he loved Scott, Scott was growing more and more anxious for his plan. That was the first time Mitch said he loved him; the first time either of them said they loved one another. This was a big deal.
“What are you making?” Scott asked form the living room couch. Whatever it was, it smelled delightful.
“Homemade pasta,” Mitch called back.
“Awww,” Scott cooed. “My little Italian boyfriend.”
Mitch stepped around the corner wall of the kitchen and glared at Scott. “I’m not that short. No pasta for you,” Mitch threatened.
“Don’t you dare keep me from glorious food,” Scott said sternly, standing up off of the couch. He walked forward so he was face to face with Mitch, well, looking down at him anyway.
“What are you going to do about it?” Mitch questioned, daunting him. Scott’s eyes moved back and forth between Mitch’s eyes and lips. They’d never kissed before, and at that moment, the urge to kiss him was greater than it ever had been. But he didn’t do it.
“This,” Scott said instead with an evil smirk on his face. He grabbed Mitch’s sides and immediately started tickling him. Mitch instantly fell to the ground and Scott followed him. Scott continued to tickle him, but itch was determined to fight back. Mitch attempted to push Scott off of him many times, laughing and screaming for Scott to stop. After many failed attempts, Mitch gave up and accepted his fate. Once Scott had had his fun, he laid down on the floor beside the heavily breathing Mitch.
“You’re a dick,” Mitch said, trying not to smile, but failing.
“Eh, but you like me anyway,” Scott replied, smiling.
They laid on the floor for what seemed like hours, just taking I the presence of on another. Finally, Mitch decided to get up and finish making dinner before Kirstie, Avi, and Kevin arrived. Scott watched Mitch walk around the corner wall and into the kitchen.
“I love you,” Scott said, not loud enough to understand from as far away as Mitch was.
“What?” Mitch questioned, poking his head around the corner and smirking.
“Nothing,” Scott replied, smiling, his eyes returning to the ceiling. Mitch went back into the kitchen and pressed his back against the wall.
‘He loves me,’ Mitch thought. ‘And I love him, too.’
Those were the kind of moments Scott loved and was hoping to have for the rest of his life, and if tonight went as he planned, he would get exactly what he wanted.
