1-HOT HOT HOT!!!!

My name is Ashley. I was brought up in a ghetto. I lived in a 2 bedroom apartment with my family of 5 when i was young. We were not the only one living in the compound. We were many and i loved it. I loved playing with our neighbors' children.

They were so nice and cool. We would plant trees together,feed the chickens together, act plays together, it was so fun.

When i was 5 years old, we had a new neighbor. I wasn't really happy about it but i had no choice. It took me some time before i accepted the new neighbors. I couldn't talk to their children cos i was so shy.

One sunny day,i was sitting in the balcony daydreaming. Then i heard someone scream my name.

"Ashley! Ashley!" Olive shouted.

"Hey Olive!" I replied.

"Do you want to play with me?" She asked with a calm voice.

I didn't want to play cos it was hot outside but i couldn't resist her voice it was so calm and appealing.

"Sure I'll join you now" i shouted.

I begged my sister to follow me cos i didn't want to go alone.

She followed me and i played with Olive while she played with Olive's sister. After that day Olive and I started playing together and she became my bestfriend.

Olive was always fighting for me cos she knew i was shy. We would always do everything together. She was like a sister from another mother. She was the definition of a true friend.

When i was 8, Olive and i were still best friends. We were still living in the same house. We were all bored one afternoon so we decided to play outside. We played for hours and we were still bored we didn't know what to do again.

So Holly,Olive's sister came up with an idea. She said we should play a game to find out who the strongest person is. I knew it wasn't me. I was short,tiny, i couldn't even kill an ant. I told them i wasn't playing.

"They insisted but i stood by my word".

Holly went inside,filled a cup with hot water and said they would all pour the hot water on their head to test our strength. I wasn't interested at all. I told Olive that i couldn't do at all.

"She laughed at me and replied saying don't worry you'll be fine"

I felt relieved a little cos Olive was a good friend and she would always advice me like a good friend. But i was still scared. They started the game. Holly poured it on her head she didn't shake. My sister also poured it on her head she felt nothing. Olive did the same and was just laughing. After everyone had done it,i was the only one left.

"Ashley don't be a chicken" C'mon you can do this" Holly stated.

"I don't want to do it" i replied with a frown.

"Do it! Do it!" Everyone cheered.

"i can't do this guys" i mumbled.

As i was about to leave, Olive took the hot water and poured it on my head.

I screamed and fell on the floor crying cos my head was on fire. The hot water was damaging my hair. I turned and i saw Olive and Holly laughing at me. That day was the worst day of my life.

The only thing that was popping up in my head was Why did Olive do it?

"I was in extreme shock"
