This is a one shot regarding an alternate scene that starts from where in the show Shivaay confesses before his family that he intends to befriend Annika before establishing a relationship with her as a couple.

She walks into their room still thinking about his words. "I want to be her friend before her husband. I don't want to win her over, I want to win her heart." Just the fact that her stubborn angry young man husband with an attitude and aura enough to intimidate anyone could be that thoughtful, melted her heart a bit as a smile crept up on her lips. "You all are aware of the circumstances under which we were brought together. Even when either of us tried to step up towards each other, something would hold us back. Be it the beliefs or the ego, it took too long to fall in love but things only altered for the worse. And in all the time that we had spent together I only learnt more about her and how she has always fought with everything alone. I wanted to fill that void before building any other bond. I wanted to be her friend before her husband. I wanted to truly become her life partner, her companion. And that's all I've been trying to do." Deep down Annika could probably feel all this without him having to utter a word about it, but to witness him speak of it as such only made it more special. "When birds are caged for too long, it is bound for them to take longer to learn to fly."
She found herself smiling at how she had never thought he could be so tender with anyone, let alone her. It almost seemed like he believed she was too delicate to handle and even if he wanted to show her his love, he was conscious about hurting her. Maybe if someone said she was the happiest woman alive in this moment, it would be nothing but true. She looks down at her wrist where he had wrapped her fingers around her bracelet and gently but lovingly and with all right to call her his, pulled her away from everyone and their questioning glares. Maybe they understood their love, maybe they didn't. But what mattered most right now was that he understood her and she was head over heels in love with his tender side and concern for her comfort.
Just as she was lost in her thoughts, he walked in on her tears dripping down her cheek. He sighed knowing she was crying but he knew she wasn't sad rather happy. Sigh Annika, I will never understand your happy tears. All I want is you to be happy and contented. But even then when you're the happiest, you cry. Like you do when you're sad. He shook his thoughts away and came close enough to wipe away the tears with his thumb. She instantly turned around and let herself melt against his figure, snuggling in his chest as she continued to sniffle while taking in his comforting scent. He wrapped his arms around her and rubbed her back till she calmed down and pulled herself together to look up at him. Gazing into each other's eyes without either saying a word, the silence and smiles were enough to say they were thankful for each other's existence. She leaned in to gently rub her hand over his cheek and mumble a thank you. And he did so to melt against her touch. Neither realizing how close they were until it finally hit her and her eyes went wide as her cheeks turned a slight shade of crimson.
