Chapter 9

Dimitri's pov:

I woke up with a heaviness on my heart, I sat up and rubbed my face, I can't believe Cassie broke up with me, I fought back the tears that threatened to spill from my eyes, with a sigh I stood up and slowly walked to the bathroom to take a shower. I walked into the kitchen, Cassie was sitting at the table, playing with her food, she didn't say anything to me when I walked in, nor did she look up, I let out a sad sigh as I grabbed a drink and headed to my dad's built in lab. I sat down and started on the thing I have been working on for weeks now, I sighed, memories flashed in my mind, Cassie used to come down here and mess with anything she could get her hands on.

Flashback, a few days before the break up:

"Guess what," Cassie said, messing with a device in her hands, "What?" I asked, glancing up at her, "I open for a band this Saturday," She said proudly, I spun my chair around to face her, "Really? That's great," I smiled, she set the device down and sat on my lap, wrapping her arms around my neck, "Are you coming?" She asked, raising a brow, "I wouldn't miss it for the world." She smiled but then it faded, "What about the Brotherhood and Kyle?" She asked, I placed my hands on her hips, "I guess they will have to wait," She smiled again then she kissed me.

The sound of my phone brought me back from my thoughts, I answered it, "Hello?" I asked, "Dim, Loki attacked and he brought Red Hulk," My dad said, "Where's Bruce?" I asked, standing up, "He went on a mission with Barton to get a device that can help us, get over here now!" He said then hung up, I grabbed the device and placed it on my forearm, "I guess no test run," I said then headed toward the S.H.I.E.L.D.

I ran into the base, there was destruction every where, "Where is h-" My words trailed off when something big hit me, I slammed through the wall and into the side of a car, I groaned, standing up slowly, I looked up and saw Red Hulk walking toward me, "You just missed the show," Loki appeared next to Red Hulk. "What show?" I asked, "The destruction of the Avengers of course," His lips formed a smirk as he pointed to four figures laying across the rumble, "Dad!" I went to go toward my dad but Red Hulk grabbed me and lifted me up, "Four down, one to go." Loki nodded to Red, I hit a button on my forearm, I cursed when nothing happened, Red Hulk spun and threw me in the air, I hit the device on my forearm as I twisted in the air, "Come on!" I saw the ground getting closer, I hit it again, soon it lit up and my armor started covering my body. I smirked, when my HUD came on, I hit my thrusters to turn and landed my feet on the ground, making a crater, "Lets rumble," I mumbled as I blasted off. I landed in front of Red Hulk, "Nice try," I said, he roared, swinging his massive fist at me, I ducked and rolled away, I fired a few shots at his back, he growled, turning around and punching me in the chest, I flew back into a wall, "Critical damage, we can not take another hit like that," Jarvis said, showing me the damage on my HUD. I got up, I grabbed a pole and ran toward him, I jumped and swung the pole at him, he grabbed it and threw me, I skidded across the road, sparks flying each time my suit hit the road, I rolled to a stop, "Power at 4%, sir," Jarvis said, I groaned, barely able to stand, Red hulk walked toward me then something big and green tackled him through a building. Hawkeye ran up to me, "Hang in there," He said, kneeling down, "Da-" The darkness took over me and the world went still.
