•HOOD OF BALTIMORE- Sept. 1
I tap my fingers against the desk lazily, having my eyes looking at the clock above the chalkboard and not my teacher who's lecturing us about the Aztecs and Greeks again. I've learned all this in like 6th grade and now they're teaching it again...
I feel a paper ball get thrown at me from behind and I look behind me ready to beat a bitch up but it was just Brianna, my best friend laughing her ass off as I roll my eyes with a goofy smile at her
She mouths, "Open it up." Quietly as she glances up at our teacher again and I open the paper ball up slowly to just read, "𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚌𝚕𝚊𝚜𝚜 𝚎𝚗𝚍?" In sloppy hand writing and I laugh to myself shrugging my shoulders
I don't pay much attention to this class mainly because I know everything that they're teaching us, and when it comes to history, it's just the same shit over and over for years til you graduate
Someone knocks on the door and everyone's heads turn towards it curiously. She stops lecturing us and holds up a finger, "One moment guys. Make sure to write down those notes though." She says and opens the door to a boy about our age, holding only a folder and a pencil hooked to his pocket
"You're switching to this class for the year?" Ms. Cherry, our teacher asks the boy and I don't hear a response from him so he must've nodded his head. She lets him in and points over to an empty desk where he should sit
He glances at me for a moment before he looks away as everyone stares at him curiously. He had shiny black curly hair, a light cinnamon skin tone, and a mysterious look to him
I look back ahead of me as he sat down about 2 rows behind me and I stare at the clock again before I feel another paper ball hit me and I open it up, "𝚑𝚎 𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚎 𝚊𝚜𝚕!" And I look behind me to see Brianna's hoe ass cheesing
I shake my head again at her as I lay my head down on the desk for a little while, "Students," Ms. Cherry's voice booms again, "I know y'all are seniors and you're tired of this already but the year's halfway over. At least get some work done." She scolds, once she sees only half of the class actually doin' these dumb notes
She walks over to the boy's desk after peeking at our progress and I tune in a little to their conversation, "Who's class were you in before?" She asks him
"Mr. Arvenger." He answers, and his voice was low and a little smooth. Soothing to the ears
"Was there any reason you were sent here?" She asks skeptically, "He always had somethin' to say to me. So I ain't wanna be in that class no more." He replies
"I won't have any problems with you, right?" She asks , "As long as nobody causes a problem with me." He answers and she nods her head, "Alright, Michael was it?" She asks, reading his name from his ID that was sitting on the desk before him and he nodded his head casually
She walks back to the front of the classroom, "I'm gonna slip out for a minute, I just printed your homework in the copier room. Stay in your seats and don't talk to each other." She orders us and we nod our heads as she finally left the classroom
Everyone starts talking anyway
"Angel!" I hear Brianna's loud voice from anywhere and I turn around popping a blue jolly rancher into my mouth. She points to her left solemnly while covering it with her other hand, over to the new boy and I scoff, "And what about it?" I ask her
"What's your name?" Ramiyah, one of the most annoying, thots in the school asks, looking over at Michael who looks pretty unbothered, sitting in his seat and he turns his head to her, but then turns back straight ahead not answering her question
