"I love you"
3rd person POV
Sometimes. Dangers are taken for those that you love. You take jumps, wondering if you are going to land. But you always jump. You trust them to catch you. That is exactly what Eliza did for Alexander. It was Philip's birthday. Elizabeth was hoping that Alexander would finally take a break.
She was gaining concern for her love. He was working non-stop. Eliza wanted Alexander to relax and visit his father in law. Sometimes, she would wonder what his brown eyes looked like, not seeing them in so long.
Eliza begged with Angelica for him to come with them. But, you can only ask for so long. They both gave up. A decision that Eliza wishes at this moment she could have changed.
When the pamphlet was released, something was lost. It wasn't even sadness for her when she hear about it. When she read what he had done. It was more of a feeling of loss. As if a hole was formed inside her.
What Eliza would give to read those letters again. She remembers each night she got a letter. During that time in her life, all she could think about was Alexander. Think about the Winter's Ball.
Think about the good times.
Now, a filter of despair is on each memory. One on their dance. One on their wedding. She could only feel dread. A need to go back in time. To see how Alexander was. See if there was a sign of what he had done to her.
Angelica is the one who introduced Alexander to Eliza. Did Angelica know? Did Angelica sense that Alexander would do something like this?
Maybe she was too focused on his eyes. Maybe she was too naive. What did she do wrong?
Love is something that seems to affect everyone. While it is something has definitely made her sad. Eliza doesn't regret loving Alexander. She doesn't want to forget and reject her love for Alexander. She knows better.
She tried to reject it in the past. It never works. You can't just forget feelings no matter how hard you try.
Eliza kneeled down onto the grass. She smiles.
Alexander gave her Philip. Her precious baby Philip. She misses Philip uncontrollably. How can one not?
Philip was an amazing young man. He was similar to his father. Especially in the mind set. But, there is one place that Eliza wishes Philip was more like her. That was his anger.
Philip never showed any aggression towards Elizabeth. Even when he was a teenager. That is something he was always good at. It was never towards family.
But, his anger got him killed. What if Philip did fire? Would he still be alive? Would Eacker be dead?
But there is nothing anyone could do now. Not even Eacker. 29 years too late.
"Alexander, dearest." Eliza places the flowers next to the tombstone that she visited next to daily.
"I hope you wouldn't have forgotten."

These words that she read everyday. The death of husband is a still a sensitive subject. Even after 26 years."It is the our anniversary. 50 years, Alexander. Do you remember when we met? I was a blushing mess. Lord, that was so many moons ago." Eliza sighs. She looks up towards the sky.
"Would we have danced today? Just you and I in the living room?" Eliza looked back down and looks at one of the roses.
"I love you."
"Forever"
