Mary knew her life would never be the same when her brother, Steven Rogers enlisted into the Army in 1942 and she followed. But what she didn't know was how drastic her life would change.
Her brother became the hope for America when he dons the title of Captain America. Her husband and best friend, James Buchanan Barnes fought alongside them in the Howling Commandos. She lost her husband on a mission to capture a German scientist, and shortly following; she lost her brother as well. Only to find out that she cannot ever age thanks to a serum injected to her by Johann Schmidt, The Red Skull and leader of Hydra.
Mary was alone until Bucky gifted her a precious daughter, Rebecca Sofia Barnes. Only to have lost her five years after she was born.
Mary lives out seventy years of her life, gaining the wisdom and knowledge of being a skilled doctor in her own right, but watching the people she loved pass on and grow old. Her godson, Anthony Edward Stark had taken up the mantel of Iron Man after a kidnapping in 2008.
Her brother miraculously survived his plane crash, waking up in 2011 to a complete shock to find his sister the same as when he went into the ice.
She and her friend Nicholas J Fury founded The Avengers, a team of superheroes that come together to fight threats that are too big for one hero to handle.
The Avengers fought Loki, and won.
Mary and Steve moved to DC after the Battle of New York in 2012 and her life changed even more when she and Fury are targeted by the man named The Winter Solider in 2014. Her world is flipped when the assassin turns out to be her long dead husband, James Buchanan Barnes. The girl with him breaks away and is finally home when she realizes that her mother is her target. Rebecca Sofia Barnes found her home and lost her home in a matter of minutes.
Steve, Becca, Natasha and Sam Wilson fought against Hydra, taking the corrupt organization down along with Shield, the organization that Mary had founded with Howard Stark and Peggy Carter.
Now her husband and daughter are on the run, and Mary's life crumbles into ash when things in her life begin to burn. Her family is dividing in ways she never thought possible. And her heart is shattered by events in her life that will change her life once more.
