My school is actually wack

They walked to the dining room where Joe and Julia's parents were.
Ben pulled out a chair for Joe, which seemed to have impressed Julia.

They all sat down as Mrs. M got up to bring the food. As she set it down, she gave a small toast.

"Serve yourselves as much as you want, especially you Ben, there's plenty oh and Merry Christmas eve!"

Everyone silently ate until Mrs. M asked Ben some basic questions about himself.

"So Ben, where do you work?"

Fuck

"I have a full time job at a record store "

"Oh okay. What kind of music are you into?"

"Classic rock like the Beatles and Queen."

"Oh, great taste for a young lad like yourself."

After that, dinner went pretty smoothly and quietly until Julia opened her mouth.

"So Ben, how do you know my rat of a brother?"

Joe mouthed a quiet 'Fuck You' to her from across the across as Ben took a deep breath.

"Um, well we met back at the shop"

That obviously isn't the real story but they met in a not so ideal way.

"Hmm, okay. How old are you?"

"I'm 24 going on 25 January 2nd."

"Ohh, so in a few days?

"Yeah yeah."

Joe could tell that his family liked Ben, Ben could tell too so he loosened up a bit. Now they were all in the living room talking about anything and everything.

Joe and Ben sat on the small loveseat, Mr. and Mrs. M on the regular couch and Julia on the floor.

And Julia being the wonderfully great sister she is, brought out Joe's baby book.

"Hey Ben, do you wanna see Joe's baby/kid pictures?"

"Yes!"

"No!"

Joe disagreed. Julia handed Ben the books anyways and Joe sighed in embarrassment.

"Aww, is that my little Joe when he was small?"

"Shut up!"

"Why? You were such a cute baby."

"No, I wasn't!"

"Yes you were and you still are cute"

Joe's mom awed and Julia gagged.

"God get a room already!"

"No, they're so cute! I haven't seen Joe this happy in so long!"

The embarrassment continued for Joe as Julia kept showing Ben the old baby books and now it was 10 P.M, time for bed. Everyone had said their good nights and went to their rooms.
Joe got to his bed first and Ben settled next to him, playing with Joe's hair as he dozed off. A small smile appeared on his face as he said his last words before Joe fell asleep.

"I love you Joey."

This was the first time Ben's said it. He was nervous about Joe's response.

Joe clearly heard him because he gave a small smile and his face turned red.

"I love you Ben."

With that, they both fell asleep and to Ben, that was the best Christmas gift of all.

I'm back, I've been working on this for a while but just never posted it. Sorry bout that super long hiatus, things came up but for the most part I got through them
