Saying she came in here too much was an understatement. In fact, she was a regular here.

A regular at a bar. Take with that what you will but she's not an alcoholic. She craves human interaction. Genuine interaction that doesn't involve a silly phone screen perched in her hands.

She worked hard. She was a full time law student, juggling a job on top of that. So coming here every once in a while provided her time to unwind.

Him, on the other hand, very rarely came here. He couldn't recall the last time he did, but boy was he glad he did tonight.

She came in, full of confidence, flamboyant. A light in the dimly lit bar. So bright his eyes followed her all the way to her usual stool.

"Hey Ryan!" the bartender chirped at her, making her smile. He took special note of her name.

"Red wine?"

"You know it." she grinned. He took special note of her drink of choice as well. Sophisticated.

He took in her long hair cascading down her back, her small frame, and her confident posture. It took him several minutes to convince himself to sit next to her. When he did, she offered him a small glance. He gave her his signature smile.

"Wine huh?" he ask lightheartedly.

"Not too into the hard stuff." she chuckles as she messes with the napkin under her drink that helps prevent those atrocious rings on the bar.

Her small laugh makes him smile. His smile grows when she looks back up at him with rosey cheeks.

"I've never seen you here before." she says matter of factly.

"Oh really? You sure?" he grins as he sips his small drink.

"I think I'd remember if I did." she says, mimicking his grin. She's smooth and she matches his energy.

"Colby." he offers his hand clad with numerous rings. A look she adores.

"Ryan." she says sweetly as she grips his hand, feeling his cold rings. He takes it upon himself to make sure she has no ring sitting pretty on her left ring finger.

"So Ryan, what do you do when you're not here?"

"School mainly. I'm starting to wonder if this whole law school thing is really worth it." she jokes. He's shocked by the small fact but attracted to her even more none the less.

"What about you?" she smiles.

"Oh um I travel a lot." he lies by omission. He doesn't dare tell her that he posts videos on the internet for a living. Some people don't react in the best of ways. He'll save that tid bit for another time.

"I'm envious. I tend to be stuck here." she chuckles as she finishes off her glass. He almost offers to get her another but she stands.

"I should really get going. I have some studying to do." she says quickly as she offers a small wave to the bartender.

"I'll see you around Colby." she says before she walks away. He can't even get a word out. Couldn't ask for her number or anything. He was just simply frozen.

All she leaves him with is a stained napkin to stare at, wishing he had the guts to ask her for any sort of way to stay in touch.

I hope you guys like it thus far.

I love Colby and I've realized the Colby stories are rather sparse. So why not.

Enjoy children.
