A Tranquil Life..... Almost....

Freezing Reunion pt.2

        It had been a quiet day, but it likely wouldn't stay that way. It had been three days since Double Scoop had joined Tangy and I . We hadn't gotten any looks or new remarks, but sometimes I got a snicker or a whisper of hate before Tangy jumped  off her spoon . Good news was that my Experience level was high enough that I could enter the Catacombs. 

    Catacombs were a scary place, full of Fallen Angels. Fallen Angels are hideous beasts that prey on humans and food souls.  Some were docile and able to reason with, then there were the violent monsters Like Uke Mochi or Uke Mochi in it's true form.  

          Tangyuan seemed over energetic as we got ready. I, myself, was scared as hell. These fallen had already took one person from me, should I really put any others in danger too. I chewed the end of pen with vigor, almost breaking it . Vanilla walked over and snatched my pen," Don't eat that. Get *huge yawn* ready or Tangyuan might hurt us." He said handing me some clothes and giving me a small hug. I got a smile at that. Vanilla looked much better than the first day, and Strawberry seemed a bit more mellow. 

   As I walked out , I was assaulted with hugs and kisses and "Let's go" 's from Tangyuan and Strawberry," We honestly thought you were dead from how long you were taking." Tangy said as Vanilla and Strawberry shrugged. I hurried them out the door with a bit of aggravation. These nerds were worried for nothing and just wanted to try their luck in the Catacombs. I wanted to scold them all, but I couldn't . It was funny to watch them giggle , play and joke with each other.

   " So, what do you guys want to do today?" I asked a bit too aloof. It was obvious they wanted to go in Catacombs, but I was nervous. Maybe I shouldn't let them . We could live a peaceful life in a small restaurant, serving people food to make them happy and be together forever.  

  " Catacombs , duh. I really want to smash a face in. " Tangy said , dancing on her place-mat. She held her spoon like an ax most of the time, but she often rode on it . Her brown hair wasn't frizzy for once and she stood proud like a soldier. Most food souls we passed in the hall  flinched away at the sight of her and the rest scooted back at the sight of how she was carrying her spoon.

     The Catacombs were a huge door in front of a cavern of random Fallen. They are divided in floors , because one part could only handle so many fallen. I looked at all three of them, " You realize we can't leave until we either lose and get knocked out so someone can save us , or miss the time limit on one floor." They gave me a sure look and pressed opened the doors. They swung open and held up their heads. 

    We walked into the dimly lit room , watching and waiting silently, alert in case of fallen. It was way too quiet , dim, and still. There was a small scuffle. Tangyuan screeched as something grabbed her leg from her perch on her spoon. It was a small fallen, looking like a lost spirit.   

   " TANGY!" I yelled dashing over with my kitchen blade, a long knife held like a big sword, and slashed down. The fallen poof-ed as it was attacked, fading into dust. " Tangyuan, never do that again. I will always be here for you,so please, never scream like that again." I said with a small smile. 

   Tangy embraced me in a huge hug, her entire small frame taking me down. The boys just blasted freezing gusts and sung sleep inducing lullabies, giving me time to comfort Tangyuan before she was ready to go back to battle.   

  " Master Attendant, let's do this together ok?" She said, dusting off my shoes and scooting over on her place mat. The paper was really strong for how it looked. She stepped on it so lightly , I thought it was fragile. Her thin frame danced around the edges, smashing any fallen brave enough to come at her. Soon, her and Double Scoop had finished off all the fallen on the next few floors.

   "WHO'S THERE" Yelled a monstrous voice as we entered the final floor of this dungeon.  I heard a metallic clang as the beast emerged , it's gigantic fork smashing down like an anvil. It was human from the waist up, with no clothing but a bra type thing around her chest. It had monstrous tentacles and weird , raggedy blonde hair. 

   Uke Mochi. This thing shocked new levels of rage into my system. It was at that moment I realized, they would never want a silent life in a restaurant. Tangyuan was spinning like a base ball as she put some power into her swing. Double Scoop started shooting frozen blasts. They all held smiles larger than the sun and moon. They would never enjoy a life of peace and gentle bliss. They were nothing like how text books said they would be, entirely different and unique . 

    They finished off the foul fallen with a few good freezes and a smash or two to the face, leaving behind a body that began to slowly dissolve. Behind where it stood was a chest that held some sort of creatures. I slipped them into my bag and we continued sweeping floors. Soon, towards the lower floors, it started getting harder and harder to beat the fallen. The rewards got better and better, but the fights began dragging on , slowing ,almost approaching a stand still. 

   Then the stand still came. Back and forth they went, Tangy's healing kept up nicely, and  Vanilla put them to sleep just enough so the healing could take effect, but the Fallen's self healing was somewhat off the charts. It was annoying battle that made me itch to get in the middle of it. 

   Finally, as the beast looked like it was wavering, I dashed at it , drawing my kitchen knife. I held it like sword because of it's large size. Instead of some elegant sweep or tiny slash, I brought it down like an ax. The fallen wailed as my blade implanted itself in the creatures head. It poof-ed dissolving like every other fallen. 

   " That... was.. really... hard." Strawberry said, panting between each word. They all seemed really tired, and I was ready to go as well. 

  " Alright let's-" A shrill scream cut me off. There was loud, sickly wet pops. They seemed from the floor below us. 

  " We've got to" Vanilla yawned heavily, stretching his entire body. " Help them.."

  " Agreed, but I don't want you guys to see anything like what I've seen." I sighed wistfully. I wanted to see nothing right now when I closed my eyes, but I only saw my last of Caramel, his chocolate outer shields coming up in a huge blossom around me, and me blacking out.
