I walked down the corridor trying to find the room. I was heading to my new job as a photographer, I guess I got recommended somehow, and I just couldn't seem to find the studio. I looked down at the half sheet of paper I got from the receptionist, and read over the number again.

236B Charleston

I was supposed to be working for Vivian Charleston, supposedly a well-known photographer for teen magazines. I finally reached the end of the corridor and found the room. I slowly walked in and saw a tall woman holding a clipboard. She turned around and smiled, "You must be, Meagan?" she said with a sort of high pitched voice. (And just to let you know. My name is pronounced May-gen. Yes it's a weird way to spell it.)

"Ya, that's me. It's nice to meet you Mrs. Charleston." I said holding out my hand. Instead she took me in a hug then pulled back. "Its Ms, actually. And call me Vivian. Everyone does. I just don't bother with the whole formal thing. I drags me down." She set down her clipboard and walked over to table that had her schedule on it. I followed her and looked at it. Man, this woman was busy. I guess she really was well-known after all.

"So, what are we going to start with today?" I asked maybe a little too eager.

"Well we've got a photo shoot for a band that is coming in at...... sometime around two." she said tapping her fingernails on the small table.

"Well, it's only twelve." I said making her stop the tapping and look over at me.

"We've got time. Would you like to go out for a bite, before the lads come?" Lads? Didn't know it was a boy band. I haven't really heard of many good boy bands in the states.

"Uhh... Sure. Why not." I said giving her a half smile.

"Great! Come on, I know a diner right down the corner that's quite good." she said grabbing her purse and keys then grabbing my wrist and running out the door.

************

By the time we got to the diner, I was panting like crazy. I think Vivian just dragged me ten blocks. Ya, sure 'right down the corner', real accurate. We got inside and sat down at the counter.

"So, Meagan..... tell me about yourself."

"Umm... I'm 17 almost 18, I'm originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, and I got a chance to come work at a photography studio somewhere in the world." I said kind of just getting out the basics.

"And that opportunity led you to my studio here in London." she said with a smirk on her face. I nodded and took a sip of my drink the waitress just handed me.

"Anyway, you lived with your parents, I assume, correct?"

"Yes. My mother, father, and my older sister, who just left for college. Well, what about you? I mean I haven't really heard anything about you, in the past 30 minutes we've known each other." I said, kind of eager to hear about the woman i'd be working for. She seems to be busy a lot, so why not learn about what she's done in the past, or about her life.

"Well I'm 28..."

"28! And how long have you been working? Oh, sorry didn't mean to burst in like that." That's a way to get someone first thoughts of you. Way To Go Meagan!

"Oh it's alright. And ya I've been working for about 10 years, so I started about the same time as you did." she said back with a smile. Wow! Really! So she's only about 28! She looks young for her age. But really, if she started 10 years ago and this is where she is now, just imagine how far I could get in those 10 years. Hell, I could even be competing against her for clients. This might just be the biggest step I've ever taken!
