I wake up to the sound of my brother laughing.
"Grayson?" I ask as I sit up. He just continued to laugh. I get up and I take his ear buds out.
"What the fuck are you doing!?" I ask.
"Watching old videos of us since we don't get any sorts of social media or anything." Grayson says. Me and Grayson are twin brothers. We're both on the bad side, and we get no advantages, the good side gets everything. We're not even that bad, we just got kicked over to this side.
"Well we have to get ready for school." I say.
"Fuck school!" Grayson yells.
"If you don't go to school dad will get mad, and you know what happens when dad gets mad." I tell him. He rolls his eyes and stands up. I go over to the closet and I pick out a random black tank top, some black shorts and that's all I need. I fix up my hair with some gel and then I spray a little bit of cologne on and then I come downstairs.
"Nice tats." I hear my buddy, Nate, say.
"Thank man." I say. I just recently got some new tattoos on my arms and the ones on my legs have been there for a while. I know a 16 year old boy with tattoos, crazy!! But not here, most people have tattoos, it shows strength. And my name means strong anyways. I leave for school with Nate and Grayson. Once we get to school they walk off. I hate those stupid gate that separates us with the good side, they get so much fucking privilege that we don't get!! I walk into the school. As I'm walking I catch eyes with a girl on the other side, the princess, Kalila. She's very beautiful and nobody can deny it. But we could never be anything, I'm the bad guy she's the good girl. I look away and I keep walking to my locker, which I spray painted my name onto so I would remember it's mine. I grab my stuff and then I go to class, I see Kalila again, she's looking at me.
"Hello class, I am Mr. Sulzmen. So we have both good people and bad people, I'm on the good side." Mr. Sulzmen says.
"So, we have princess Kalila in our class today, so you may choose your spot miss." He says. Wow, just cause these the stupid princess she gets whatever she wants.
"Could you sit the bad people first?" Kalila asks. That's a first. The teacher nods. He puts us in our spots, I'm right by the fence, of course.
"I'll sit here." Kalila says and she sits next to me, but the fence is in between us.
"Ok." He says. Then the whole class sits in their spots.
"Hello." Kalila says.
"What do you want?" I ask.
"What's your problem?" She asks me.
"My problem is just because you're the princess of the good side you get to have whatever the fuck you want." I say.
"Hey I don't even want to be princess." She says. That shocked me because who wouldn't want all the things they want?
"You don't?" I ask.
"No, I want to be normal like everyone else on my side, but I don't really get a choice." She says to me.
"Now I feel like a dick." I say.
"Well you are known to be one." She says. I chuckle.
"I mean you're not wrong." I say.
"My name is-" She starts.
"Kalila." I say.
"Yes, how'd you know?" She asks.
"You're pretty known around here, even on the bad side." I say.
"Yeah, what's your name?" She asks.
"Ethan." I tell her.
"What's the meaning behind your name?" She asks me.
"It means strong." I say.
"Mines dearly loved." She says.
"Nice." I say. Then we both draw our attention back to the teacher. She's actually really nice to me, even thought she's like the princess so she should be the one who has to follow the rules and people from the other side shouldn't like people like me. I'm not good for her or any girl to be honest, I've had plenty of girlfriends from my side but none of them worked out and they will expecially not work out if the girl is a good girl like Kalila.
