Paige Collins POV

It was lunchtime, the day after I made the bet with Connor. I sat down with my friends, and Michelle reminded me that I technically owed Connor an ice-cream, so I went up and bought him one. I didn't know if he liked chocolate or vanilla, so I just went with the safest option and got vanilla.

I scanned the large sea of teenagers, looking for Connor. As I was about to give up, I spotted his friend Delilah Harrison, before I found him sitting a few seats away. I was able to spot her first because she was so much taller than everyone else in the lunch room, and she had jet black hair.

She was sitting next to Alex Bailey, a golden blonde-haired boy on the swim team. Next to Alex was a guy with brown hair, black-framed glasses, and an MCR shirt who I didn't know. Beside the guy with an MCR shirt was Allen Dunn, who I knew was on the cross country team. Sitting across from them was Talyn, a guy with mainly bright blue hair but some of his natural dark brown hair was peaking out, glasses, and a black beanie. Then there was the freckle faced Connor. Lastly, there was Stephen, who I sit next to in Algebra. He's an African American guy who's obsessed with Harry Potter, yet has never read the books. He's actually wearing a Gryffindor shirt right now.

I nervously walked up to the group of 7 and set Connor's ice-cream down in front of him.

"HEy Paige, what's this for?" His voice cracked in the middle of 'hey'. I smirked at him.

"I believe I owe you this."

       "What for?"

      "The bet."

A look of realization struck his face. "Oh yeah, I was more concerned about winning than getting ice-cream. And thanks, vanilla's my favorite."

I chuckled softly. Connor could be so funny sometimes. I felt proud that I unknowingly picked Connor's favorite flavor.

"Well, have a good rest of your day and you're welcome," I said, "I'm gonna go back to my table." I waved good bye as I walked back to my table.

------time skip------

Lunch was almost over when Connor approached my table of friends and set an ice-cream next to me.

"I believe I owe you this." He quoted.

"What for? You won." I said, confused as to why he got me an ice-cream.

      "No, I didn't."

      "Uh, yeah, you did."

"Uh, no, I didn't. You see, earlier Stephen brought to my attention that it was technically a tie,  so you didn't have to spend your money on me, so here."

"Well, you didn't have to spend your money on me either."

Connor ran his hand through his messy, brown hair to get it out of his eyes and fixed his jacket.

"Why are girls so freaking stubborn?" He mumbled to himself, clearly not meaning for anyone to hear, but I obviously heard.

"Why are boys so stupid?" My friend Jackie, replied sassily. My friends laughed even though it wasn't a very good comeback. Sometimes, I think that Connor isn't the stupid one here.
