You never know how much a smile can hold
Words pushing on her teeth, waiting to be let out.
But are only written down on pages of notebooks
Filled with pictures of women in dresses, with thighs so thin they look sick, and eyelids filled with dark makeup. She wishes she could be them.

You never know how much a frown can show.
A tired young girl
Who's eyes are red from hours of crying
She's done, she's through, she wishes it could be over
People try and make her laugh, but all she can do, is furrow her brows.
The words in her notebook, are so much deeper.
They're dark, they're gruesome, they make her crazy. Be careful, be quiet, she's on the verge of breaking.

~ it takes too many muscles to smile
