Harry's POV
Last night seemed to take a turn for the worst. After ordering Thai food and washing it down with champagne we stayed up late talking about the most random things. She discussed her strong feelings against male entitlement and misogyny, I laughed at the irony of her situation/job and she hit me.
I wasn't too sure as to how I was suppose to make her like me again. Whenever I fought with Cynthia I'd buy her a nice gift, earrings or a purse and she always found it in her heart to forgive me.
The only problem is, purses and expensive earrings obviously had little importance to Jordan. I barely knew her, I had no idea how to win her over. So I went with past experience.
I decided to go all out for breakfast. Waffles, pancakes, even bagels. The dining room table was nearly filled with breakfast foods, of all kinds. Once I heard her door open from upstairs, I quickly sat down in a seat and awaited her arrival.
She walked into the room, stopped a few seconds to take the scene in, then walked straight past me, into the kitchen. I got up and followed her, watching her as she opened the fridge to retrieve an apple.
"I-I made breakfast." She ignored me and walked over to my coffee machine. "But if you're not into the whole carb thing, we could go out and get a salad, I could take you shopping for new clothes or something." I raked a few fingers through my hair and she turned around."What's wrong with my clothes?"
"Nothing." I said quickly as she pushed past me to return to the fridge. Nothing was wrong with the way she dressed, I just thought girls liked that kinds of stuff. She was hardly the typical female.
I watched as she poured the milk into her mug.She was wearing a thing robe that was open, revealing her short pyjama pants and her oversized t-shirt that made the fact that she was wearing nothing underneath quite evident.
She tightly wrapped the robe around her, tying it into a tight knot. Not like that accentuated her large chest or anything.Crap,
she caught me staring I bet."If you need to go shopping, or if you want to- I'll leave you my card." I suggested and pulled it from my wallet that I fished out of my pocket.
"You're going to leave me your card?" She blew on her coffee."One of them, yes. If you need anything, clothes, toiletries, living essentials."
"You do realized you've already given me $25,000." She said after she swallowed her sip.
"Yes, but that was the down payment. This is just me being generous, nice if you will."
"I'm fine." she shook her head."Why are you being so difficult?" I groaned and tugged at some of my hair.
"Difficult?" She asked annoyed. "I just don't feel comfortable with you trying to buy my affection.""It's not your affection I'm trying to buy." I spat back and she bit down on her bottom lip. It looked more sexy than frustrated. "If it was, I'm pretty sure the twenty five grand would be enough."
"You don't own me." She shook her head."Honey," I said and lowered my face so that it was in-lined with hers. "For $25,000, I think otherwise." I walked out of the kitchen, grabbing my briefcase and keys before exiting the house.
Why were girls so bloody difficult? There I was trying to be nice and she throws it back in my face. She should be grateful, all the money and food and housing I'm giving her.
I didn't think it would be this hard. Not just the fact that she was throwing my generosity back in my face, but she feels it okay to prounce around basically in her underwear giving me unwanted boners whenever she feels it fitting!
I round the corner to my office building and drive down into the parking garage. Once I park in my spot (that is conveniently right near the elevator) I lock my car and head for the elevators. Good thing I got dressed for work before fighting with Jordan. I had everything on except my suit and tie.
