It was a lovely Sunday afternoon in Peckham and Joan was sat on the sofa with Rodney playing with his toys.
Her eldest son, Derek, shortned to Del or Del Boy was still in bed after a boozy night out with Boycie and Trigger
Joan had warned Del about drinking and how alcohol gives you an awful hangover so of course she wasn't too impressed when Del was still in bed at 1 pm!
Joan looked at Rodney who was sat on her lap and smiled "Rodney why don't we go and wake you're lazy big brother up and then we can go for a picnic?" Joan smiled as she carried Rodney into the kitchen to get him a rusk to eat as Rodney absolutely loved rusks! Joan carries Rodney into Del's room as they prepared to wake the hangover teen. "Derek! Wakey Wakey!" Rodney, who was a very loving and active little toddler copied his mummy trying to repeat what she was saying causing Joan to break out in laughter. "Rodney are you trying to call you're big brother?" Rodney so far couldn't pronounce Derek so he adorably called him Dee Dee, Joan was smitten with love and kissed Rodney on the cheek as he was eating his Rusk
All of a sudden a hangover Del awoke "Bloody hell what time is it?" Del said half asleep with a splitting headache, Joan was not happy, "It's 1 o'clock in the afternoon! I told you not to drink! It's not good for you! You're still young!" Del couldn't be asked with Joan's nagging this morning "Oh Mum!" "Get dressed and ready in five minutes as Me, You and Rodney are going for a picnic" Joan, while still holding Rodney to one side of her body opened Del's curtains causing Del to hiss when the sunlight went into his eyes "Oh come on Del, it will be fun!" Joan insisted as she kissed Del on the head. Del signed and smiled "Fine then" All of a sudden Rodney was smiling very fondly at his Big Brother repeating Dee Dee causing Del and Joan's heart to sink as Joan smiled and gently gave Rodney to Del as a bessoted Del held out his arms as he gently held Rodney.
Joan smiled at her boys lovingly feeling blessed.
"I'm just going to wake that lazy useless father of yours!" Joan said as she went to get Rodney from Del causing Del to speak. "Mum can he stay with me while I get ready" Joan smiled, "Yes" Joan was smiling fondly as she left Del's bedroom to go and wake up her useless excuse for a husband Reg! "Rodders are you going to help me choose what to wear?" Del smiled as he got out of bed holding Rodney and went towards his wardrobe opening it.
"Hmm what should I wear Rodders?" A giggling Rodney pointed at Del's favourite shirt which Rodney had got oyster milk stains all over! Del laughed as he pulled the shirt out. "You got oyster milk stains all over this you little monkey!" Del started to blow raspberry's on Rodney's belly causing Rodney to start laughing and giggling
