Chapter 3 - Scavenger Hunts.

Gwen's Perspective:

I woke up to not David snuggling next to me, but Max slapping me straight across my face. I jolted up and stared at him with a furious look on my face. He smirked and walked towards the door.

"David says to get the fuck up because there is some stupid things he needs you to do." Max stated while looking back at me to make sure I didn't fall back asleep. I rolled my eyes.

"I doubt those were his acutal words but okay." I scoffed and shooed Max out of the cabin so I could change. I only changed into my normal green shirt and burgendy shorts (becuase thats all I brought) and walked out to the Mess Hall where I met up with David and got the task he wanted me to do. It was simple. Go to the lake and plant out a scavenger hunt for the kids because there wasn't really anything else do do.

*After setting up the scavenger hunt*

I stood next to David while he set everyone off to go and complete the scavenger hunt. Max had been grouped up with Harrison, Nerris and Space Kid. He wasn't really impressed with his group but he went along with them. I turned around to walk back to the cabin to look through more pictures of Max I had got sent when I felt something warm on my hand. I looked down and saw that David had intertwined his fingers with mine and was looking at me smiling. I smiled back and held his hand and we both walked to the cabin. I really wanted to tell him about Max but I didn't.

When me and David were inside the cabin, we were debating what activity the campers should do next. It was between swimming in the lake or Archery. We soon decided on swimming in the lake so they could cool down from finding all of the items for the scavenger hunt.

"How long do you think the kids will take on the Scavenger Hunt?" I asked David as I sat on my bed, occasionally looking over to the draw in my desk that had the poctures of Max in.

"At least an hour or something." He beamed a smile and sat on his bed while grabbing his phone off his desk and switching it on. He glanced up at me a few times and blushed when he did. I wonder what he was doing.

"Gwen. Wanna go on a date sometime?" He muttered to me as he set his phone down next to him. I blushed at the sudden question.

"Y-yeah.. sure..." I responded directing my attention from the draw of photos to him. We shared a smile then he went back to doing something on his phone.

*After all the campers finished the scavenger hunt (cause I don't know what else to put)*

We were all at the lake. David was with Space Kid and I was chilling on a swim ring reading my all time favourite book 'Lizards Of Love'. Max was sitting on the dock watching everyone, refusing every offer to come swim in the lake. I was a little confused but shrugged it off thinking he wasn't in the mood to swim. I looked over to all the campers to see what they were all doing and making sure none of them were drowning when David came up next to me and put Space Kid next to me on the swim ring.

"Hey Gwen. Can you watch Space Kid for me? I need to get something from the cabin." David asked while patting Space Kid's 'helmet'.

"Sure. As long as you don't take more than five minutes." I looked up from my book at David and cracked a slight smile. He started swimming to the shore.

"I won't!" He shouted then ran off to the cabin. I looked at Space Kid who was kicking the water making tiny splashes. I closed my book and shuffled the swim ring over to the dock and placed my book on it. I looked at Max who was staring out into the distance. Wonder what he was thinking about. I stayed next to the dock for a while with Space Kid until David came back with a checklist of some sort and took him from the side of the ring. When David swan away with Space Kid, I drifted back to my original spot.

I stayed in my spot for about ten minutes until I saw Nurf and Max talking about something then Max walking off into the forest. I glanced over at David to see if he noticed but he was watching Harrison attempt a magic trick. I drifted to the dock and went after Max.
I followed his footsteps until the stopped in the middle of the forest. I looked around to see if I could find Max but I couldn't see anything. All the trees were blocking my vision. Soon enough, I heard someone mumbling to themselves. I walked towards the sound to see Max sitting on a log, head in hands, talking to himself.

I cautiously walked towards him.

Hey. Hope you liked this chapter. I had a mixture of ideas but couldn't cram them all in because some would be for the next chapter and I didn't want to put two chapters in one. I feel it would just make things confusing. In about two chapters, I will be adding Nikki and Neil in so look out for that! See you in the next chapter! ~ Izzy
