"PASCO!"

"Why are you all here?!"

"Stay back! One wrong move and he drops of this cliff and into that water!"

I slowly open my eyes, shit he's right it isn't a dream.
Pasco was in front of me, he was preventing everybody else from getting to me, I'm on the edge of the cliff face, one wrong move and I'm dead.

The first person I see in the group is Jaden, I've never seen so much fear and anger in his eyes. Than the reality of the situation hits me and I call for him "Jaden? Jaden! Please help me! Pascos fucking crazy!" I screamed.

"Don't listen to him baby! Did you know he can shift? Huh! Your mates a fucking lier! Look!" He shows the video of me shifting on his phone. Jaden was caught off guard, he looked hurt but anger was clearly overriding all emotions right now.

"See! I told you! Now you can reject him and we can be mates! We can have 3 kids! Names Jenny, Milo, and Sted!" He said psychotically. "I even told those rogues to get here! I'm sorry they didn't kill Miles! But I'm gonna do it so we can be together!" He pleaded. My eyes went to Jaden, he looked disgusted by the thought.

Pasco's demented smiles vanishes and his eyes widen "What" he said quietly. "I said no" Jaden repeated. Pasco's face scrunches up into anger "I-I love you! A-and you don't love me back! I spent my entire life trying get your attention! And you leave me for him! Fuck you for picking trash over me, Fuck all of you!" He turns and looks at me "If I can't have him no one can!"

I felt weightless.

"WE'RE GONNA DIE" my shift yelled.

I scream, it's all I could as I plummeted towards the water below. For a brief second I heard Jaden cry out my name before the water engulfs my entire body, silencing everything around me, replaced by the sloshes and splashes the water makes. "This is kinds fun!" My shift chirped, when I resurfaced I splashed around, giggling "It's actually not that far down. It's kinda fun actually" I felt great, than I noticed the red seeping down the side of my head. "Why can't just fucking die, Bitch!" I see Pasco dives off the cliff and lands on me. He grabs me by my neck, screaming at me under the water. Than I noticed his turning a vibrant green while his eyes narrowed into slits.

He's shifting.

I didn't know what to do, and I began panicking. I can't shift what if everyone sees! And Jaden, what would he think when he founds out what I am. "Bitch stop being stupid, it's my turn to give twinky boy here a lesson" my shift growled out, before I could do anything to complain or protest he shoved me all the way back in my head and takes over.

Woah this feels weird, humans are so small and weak, it's weird controlling one. To save myself the time I shift under the water, it's an even playing field now.

I'm gonna show this bitch who's boss! I immediately overpower his shift, crushing him under the water. Fun fact for all of you animal enthusiasts out there, us hippos can't float so we sink when we enter the water, and lets just say I've landed on someone's pesky Gharial.

He shifts and squirms under me, all to no avail. But he somehow slips from me and swims towards the shore, ha, I've got you now. Following him at breakneck speed, I quickly catch up to him.
