After waving the maid goodbye, Fudhail headed for his AMG waiting outside, occupied by his Italian driver Franco, and his PA Jason. Both filled with relief at the sight of him approaching. After getting in he sat for a moment in contemplative silence, before requesting Jason to brief him on the day's schedule, which started with a meeting at NASA with some satellite operator, regarding a virus that got into HT's main satellite, causing the network to go offline. Fudhail not seeing the need for any hurry in fixing the problem, ordered Jason to cancel it. The latter, who on the other hand understood all the disadvantages this would have to the company tried to reason with his boss.
"Sir our networks had been offline for the past 6 hours, and something like this had never happened before "
"I'm glad you noticed that detail Jason, that is why we are the best and the biggest network in the world. A few hours of not being able to go online shouldn't be such a big deal, " replied Fudhail dismissively, but it was still not enough for Jason, who went on to mention other disadvantages, including the company losing customers, and other business that depended on HT losing track of their progress. Trying to put forward the worst possible outcomes caused by a small virus in an even smaller span of time, for when over 20 networks were offline it only took less than 6 hours for it to cause serious damage.
Fudhail listened to his lecture with patience, counting the seconds more than paying attention to him, and after being sure that his sermon had finally reached its final verses, he then informed his assistant that the problem had been taken care of. Noting to his self that if he had done it earlier a lot of precious seconds could have been spared.
"The networks will only go completely offline after 30 hours counting from the time it had been infected, and that's because I knew something like this could happen, so I had already made plans for it. Now not all our networks will be affected, only the ones in less advanced cities will suffer a little, but not enough to cause any serious damage. "
Jason listened understood, but still was not fully content with his answer
" But all our systems at the company says offline "
"That is because we are offline technically, but none of our users knows that because as I already mentioned their staying connected had been secured in a way which is none of anyone else's business except my own. For now, all everyone else at the company needs to know is that our clients are happy and that there are no complaints yet. As far as I know, this problem is only known to NASA and our software engineers, and later I will brief the rest of the board members. Other then that no one else needs to of a problem that has already been dealt with. now, Jason, your baseless argument has taken up enough time, reschedule my meeting with NASA for 10:30 tomorrow and tell me what's next"
Jason, if having any more objections before had now seemed more then happy to obey orders.
While browsing through the calendar on his HT pad he continued
"You have a meeting with all the shareholders and network operators at 12:00."
"Ok bring that up to 11:00. Call Clara, and tell her to inform everybody else that the times have changed, and I strictly forbid any late coming, that's why I'm informing them two hours in advance just so that they have enough time to cancel any previous commitments, after that ?"
"At two you need to head to the company lab to check up on the progress of the new out of seasons fruits growth enhancer."
" Is that all?" asked Fudhail hoping to get the night off at least.
"Not yet, actually there is one more thing but I doubt you in the mood to attend."
Double-checking his HT Pad he continued. " The USO invited you to the retirement dinner of General Larson tonight at 7:00 pm. Need I add as a VIP guest. But it's ok I'll just cancel it," replied Jason.
