Story Recap Chapter (Seasons 1 & 2)

Narrator Armin: Humanity lived inside walls, allowing them to live in peace  away from their giant humanoid predators known as Titans. The three walls that gave them protection were known as Maria, Rose, and Sina. With these walls, humanity soon forgot about their humiliation, living like cattle soon became a distant memory. Until...

(The setting sun lit up the seemingly quiet world as a giant hand clenched the top of a giant wall. Inside that wall was a town filled with people. They were stiff like rocks, staring at the hand in complete disbelief as their bodies filled with fear...)

Narrator Armin: On that day, humanity remembered.

(A giant shadow over took the town of Shiganshina, as a giant Titan reared it's skinless face over the 50 meter wall. It emitted heavy steam from it's body, causing tiny embers to drift around the air...)

Narrator Armin: The fear of being in control by them. The humiliation of being imprisoned.

(The colossal sized Titan lifted it's giant leg into the air as everyone continued to stand still watching. Time seemed to freeze, everything stopped for only a mere few seconds. Everyone watched with their hearts in their throats, as they heard a loud explosion. Debris was flung everywhere as people started to scream and scatter...)

Narrator Armin: That was the day the Colossal Titan and the Armored Titan breached Wall Maria. Humanity and it's one hundred year peace was disturbed, and many people lost everything...

(The beaten hands of a child clenched the side of a boat. Tears dropped onto the wood of the railing, being absorbed quickly and vanishing. The boy looked onto the caged world he was trapped in. He was filled with anger as tears streamed down his face. His voice cried with what felt like the rage of the human race itself...)

Young Eren: I'm going to kill them all. Every single one!

Narrative Armin: That was the same day my friend Eren lost his mother. It sparked a kind of determination in him to stop the Titans, and that's just what he tried doing. When we were old enough, Eren enlisted to join the Cadet Corps. I followed him along with Mikasa. She was a girl that Eren's father had taken in only a year prior to Shiganshina's fall. After two years of survival in Wall Rose, and three years of training in the 104th Cadet Corp, we saw our first battle. After those five long years, the Colossal Titan appeared once again and broke down the gate to Trost, one of the towns in Wall Rose. By that time, we were ready. We had our new friends and our new skills using the special ODM gear. This special contraption allowed us to swing around in the air while slicing the napes of Titans using two swords. It also used gas to help propel the user towards targets with high speeds. In addition to this, our gear was able to hold spare swords so we could renew our blades to fight even more Titans. With all of our new friends and skills, we defended Trost against the Titans. However, sadly, tragedy quickly struck that day...

Armin: Eren!

(A bloody Eren held open the Titan's mouth he sat in. He was missing a leg, due to it being bitten off earlier. He pushed the Titan's top row of teeth upwards with one of his arms, as his only remaining leg and his other arm pushed the bottom row of teeth downward. His blood smeared face looked down as he kept the Titan's mouth open with all his strength...)

Eren: I refuse to die like this, understand? Armin, listen. We're still going to the outside world.

(Eren looked up, his eyes widened as he reached out to Armin with his left hand...)
