I hope that you guys enjoyed the first part of the prologue. In the future, I may go back to polish it up. From the existence of the prologue itself, these first two chapters are here to establish a sort of background to the main characters and introduce some of the other characters who influenced them. You're only going to be learning about some details for the lives of Aileen, Chande, and a few others. Not only that, but you'll also see small flashes of the lives of other characters who will be brought in later. Some of the things you see in these first two chapters are not much at all. You'll see all of their stories get fleshed out as the story goes on. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the various backgrounds you see here. All constructive criticism is appreciated.

Alatashaby Continent, Rosen Town
Year 891

A single grave graced the landscape. This land was once lush and green, now it was grey and ashen. Months had passed since the incident, but with the time to think, Aileen has changed.

She always considered herself a straightforward person, once Lily had explained to her. She wore her heart on her sleeve, and it had tended to get her into precarious situations. She could not lie to save her life, especially not to Lily. Without Lily, she had felt incredibly lost, even more so than before Lily had found her and taken her in. Now, everything was falling apart. She did not believe she could go on with this unbearable pain that was tearing at her very soul. For it seemed she was not meant to be happy. She was being pessimistic, and she despised that, but the feelings of hopelessness and sadness almost seemed to be choking her. She felt hollow.

Her anchors had all but disappeared. The person who taught her how to be strong, who was there for her, who had taught her different types of magic, who treated as her very own child. The happiness she had experienced with Lily was something she never felt before, and she never wanted to lose it. She felt as though all the light in her world had gone out. She wasn't even strong enough to help her then. And now the same thing had happened again.

Now, she felt the darkness surrounding her, she felt the cold.

Months after the incident three years ago, she had a barrage of mixed emotions towards the place Lily had asked her to find. Lily had told her to find the Light Knights League and sign up to be one of their mages. Aileen didn't want to go against Lily's final words, and so she went. But the place wasn't at all the way she expected it to be. Lily had told her of the many adventures she'd had during her time as Light Knight mage, and she was dreaming of the adventures she'd go on. Even as a baby, the lure of adventure was something she could not quell. The idea of making friends, meeting new people, traveling the world and seeing all the different types of magic out there...it called to her. It was so tempting to her. The excitement she felt just thinking of going on an adventure would make her tremble.

When Aileen had found the Light Knights League, her fingers shook. She saw people leaving the building, with smiles on their faces, and people returning, who were regaling others with tales of their own adventures. She fell in love instantly.

Things didn't go as well as she hoped. After she was introduced to the people of the league, the reaction people had to her presence was something that disheartened her greatly. People whispered, pointed to her, and proceeded to avoid Aileen like the plague. She never knew exactly what the whispers were about but she had a feeling of what it was. Her power, which seemed to immediately put her out of place. She told everyone of how she wielded a rare magic, but the kids around her age had immediately laughed at her. The adults didn't really do anything, leaving the children to their own devices. They didn't really seem to care all that much, outside of wanting to stay away from her. Aileen kept trying to keep her hurt feelings from being shown, and decided to give the people here a chance. Maybe she could show them her magic, and make some friends! She knew that Lily would want her to try. After all, Lily had told her to go Light Knights. Aileen was sure it couldn't be all that bad.
