"'Even though it was easy to fall for Eden and to get lost in the calmness that she provides. She still came with her fair share of surprises,'" I said while signing with chuckle. "'Granted, she usually does surprise me with her thoughts or actions to this day. The first surprise, however, was very different from all the ones that followed. It was one that brought something extra to my life that I never even knew I was missing.'"
*2003*
Two weeks had passed since I realized my feelings for Eden and progressively I had begun to drop even more subtle hints about what I was feeling for her. A part of me felt like she understood them based on some of the open affection she had begun to show more frequently. Long hugs and even cuddling had begun to happen between us. Of course the cuddling was when it was just us and no one else was around. This was the last couple of days on tour before we would be home for two months. To go from seeing Eden everyday to not seeing her for two months was a thought I didn't like. I didn't want to go two months without seeing her.
'In a couple of days we aren't touring again for two months,' I wrote as we sat on the bus with the others traveling to the next city. Eden read it and nodded. 'Would you like to hang out during the off time?'
A smile spread across Eden's face as she took the pen from my hand. 'I would like that. A lot.'
'Yeah?'
Eden nodded with a softer smile on her face seconds before her head relaxed onto my shoulder. 'You don't have to look so nervous asking me to hang out with you.'
'No?'
'No, I enjoy being around you.'
'I feel the same, which is why I wanted to make sure I could still see you during our downtime.'
'No worries, Bunny. We will see each other. I promise.'
I smiled leaning my head against the top of hers. My hand reached for the pen gaining it after a second or two. In my chest, my heart was pounding fast and hard. Even if I believed that Eden understood all my silent cues, I still had to make sure she did. 'I have to tell you something, but just know if you don't feel the same it's okay. I-'
Eden took the pen from my hand before I could finish writing causing my head to raise from hers surprised. 'If it's that you like me as more than a friend, it's pretty obvious,' She wrote smirking. 'If you haven't figured it out yet, the feeling is mutual.' The woman beside me smiled at my face which I am almost positive looked idiotic, but I didn't care. 'Your face is priceless. You look like I just told you that you won a million dollars.'
'It feels like I did.'
'Sweet talker.'
I shook my head gaining her attention on my face rather than the notebook. 'Honest,' I mouthed getting the same soft smile and head coming to my shoulder causing me to kiss the top of it gently. The feelings were officially confirmed and out there. The thought of going home and hanging out with her alone elicited excitement in me. All I needed now was for these last couple of tour dates to pass and for us to be back in California.
When the second to last tour date came is when something unexpected was found out. When I searched for the woman I had gotten so used to hanging out with, I found that she was sitting on her computer in the makeshift office that her and Jordan were occupying for the time being. Her hands we moving letting me know she was talking to someone. On her face she wore a soft smile. It was identical to the smile she would send me at times. A smile that spoke of more than friendship and had always caused my heart to flutter. Who was she talking to? Then I noticed a sign that I knew from seeing it on television or something along those lines. It was 'I love you'. I won't lie, that caused my heart to collapse. Eden was obviously with someone and just hadn't told me, but why would she do that? Why would she tell me she had feelings for me that was more than a friend if she was already in a relationship?
