Depression

A man was put in a solid room- the floors, ceiling and walls were all made of steel. There was no windows or doors. Not until three mechanical doors were made with the one wall left untouched. The wall that had no door shaped a little box window- on the other side of the window was a professor in a white lab coat and wore yellow glasses that did not show his eyes. He sat in a chair with a mic up to his mouth, behind a bulletproof glass. "Are you there?" A voice came in the room the man was in, and he looked up. There was a speaker from the ceiling- it was black and, well boring. But that doesn't matter. The man responded with "yes, I'm here." The professor took the mic close to his mouth, and began talking again. "Three doors you can see are in that box room you are standing in. Pick one and press one of the green buttons to open any door up." The man looked at each door. Every door had a green button next to it on the left near the door handle. The man looks infront of him at the professor and looks to his right. He clicks the green button on the right door- nothing happened. He turns his back and clicks the green button on the back door- nothing happened. Finally, he clicks the green button on the left door- and still, nothing happened. The mans anger aroused. He started to get angry at the fact that none of these doors were opening, yet clear instructions were given but still no prevail. The man looks forward to the professor on the other side. "Why can't I get out?" The professor stares at him; as if he's looking through him. The man couldn't tell if he was looking at him or not- the glasses were too tinted yellow to tell. The professor said nothing. He sat in his chair, and stared with no words said at all. The man began to get frustrated now. So frustrated, so claustrophobic. The man looked around- his mind felt blank and he had no feeling anymore. He lost focus, but realized that this entire time he lost his memory. He asked himself one question.. "but wait, how did I even get here..?"

I sat back as I chugged a cold glass of water. God it felt good. Now was another night to go out with my friends, being that I am 14. The year is 2020. I was hydrated, happy and well prepared. Time to go out with my friends. I went out, it was a beautiful night. Well, I mean every time I go out, just being outside it's a beautiful night. The food at the carnival was always fat packing but delicious, the people always smile at you and say hello: don't get me started about the animals either- the cutest ones you can find are always at the carnival. But this was one of the many places I like going to. My worries we're making sure my favorite character in Pokémon didn't faint and my bike didn't lose a screw.

Everyday went by and well, it was good. Positivity at its finest, really.

The year 2026 came- I'm 20.

I looked around at the carnival- I'm back and visiting after years of absence. But something was off.

This time the fat packing delicious food wasn't so good after all. It caused obesity and manage to throw weight on humans.

That beautiful night, well, I'm not sure. It felt like any other ordinary night. In fact, the night got annoying- it was full of humidity and the bugs ate at you, causing you to run back inside.

The animals were not so friendly anymore. When you put your hand in to pet one, it tried to bite at your hand and growl. The animals and the people started to become one after all- both vicious and didn't want any company or your attention.

I'm not sure. Life began to change. I couldn't even remember about my Pokémon fainting anymore in my game because people were dying in real life all around me. I couldn't ride my bike anymore- the screw stayed but the engine in my car blew. Look at that, someone flipped their car in the street, and well, they're dead. I want to be humble and giving- let me give them water.

But wait

I don't have any water, I used it all up already. My mouth is dry. I feel my entire body is dried up and in need of some serious water.

There was none around- let me ask my friends.

It turns out my friends that I love actually stole all my water previously. They drank it all- they were hydrated, stared at me and left. I was soaked up. My skin felt like it was peeling off since I haven't showered in days.

The year is 2032 now. The man in the solid room is 26.

Why was he there? The man couldn't get out. His heart started pounding- he's never been in this position before. He slammed and slammed on the little window- but the professor continued to stare at him. He's felt as if he's been in this room for years- but wait, he has. How is he even surviving?
Finally, after looking all around, he looked below to his feet and jumped once. The bottom of the ground opened, and he went through the bottom door.
He slammed hard on the ground, and when he got up again, he was in the same room.
But how? After all this? How could I have not gotten out of this?
I began to look around- the professor stared but raised his hand, and in it, was a glass of water.
Time was running out- I jumped again to try and get out of the room but it didn't work this time.
After I clicked all 3 buttons, the right door opened. Finally.
I entered the room to find out it was the same room again. The professor in the window began to slowly drink the water this time.
The more I opened a new pathway every time, I noticed one thing about it.

The more and more I tried,

I ended up in the exact same spot.
