Todoroki x Reader - a summer with him

Before the summer

It was the last day of school. Aizawa was in his sleeping bag, Bakugo was yelling and Kirishima, Deku was having a panic attack while talking to Uraraka, and Iida was barking orders. I walk in and toke my seat in front of Todoroki. He seemed happier today then he usually did. As I sat there sipping my coffee, the room became so quiet. The room never got this quiet. All Might had walked in.

"Good morning class" he said. "Today I'm here to tell you that we have decided to not push you this summer" he continued. "We haven't done this really before but, we are going to give you the summer off and not train you this summer". We all stared at him like he was crazy.

"We are going to let you train yourselves for half of the summer then you will be pared up with someone of our choosing and you will train with them for the other half of the summer".

Everyone looked around, anticipating who we were going to be pared with and hopefully not getting Bakugo. "Now here are the pairs" continued Aizawa.

"First, Mineta and Aoyama, Jiro and Sero, Deku and Iida, Kirishima and Uraraka, Asui and Bakugo, Tokoyami and Yaoyorozu, Todoroki and [Y/N]..." he continued but I wasn't paying attention.

Me and Todoroki?!? It couldn't be! I could feel a cold shiver rush up my back, and it wasn't Todoroki. My heart was beating so hard. I could feel the thumping in my chest, and I could feel my face getting red like it always does when I get flustered.

I then feel a small tap on my shoulder. I turn around and see  Todoroki holding a piece of paper folded in half that he was handing to me. "Open it at the end of class" he says in a deep and quiet voice. I nod and turn back around.

I wondered what he wanted and if he wished he hadn't gotten me as a partner for the summer assignment. I dreaded what that note said, and couldn't keep my mind off it for the rest of the class.

The bell rung and I had totally forgotten about the note. As I started to get up and Todoroki waited by my desk as I finished packing up. "Why are you waiting for me? You should head to lunch!" I said to him. "It's fine" he replied. "I'll wait."

He'll wait?!? Why was he being so nice to me! Why was he waiting for me? He never waits for anyone let alone me! Was he going say that he was going to ask for a partner switch? Or he was just not going to train with me?

As I finished packing up my books, I noticed he was staring at something. He was staring at the note he had given me. "You haven't read it yet?" He asked. "No! I sorta forgot about it I guess" I replied. "Ohh" he said, steering away from my gaze "Ok, I don't mind when you read it just let me know when you do." He finished. "Of course!" I said blushing.

We both walked out the classroom when Todoroki explained he was going to go take a walk instead of going to lunch. "No problem I'll see you later" I replied smiling and waving him off.

I walked to the cafeteria and sat down with Uraraka and Asui. I thought about the note a lot but hesitated to open it. "[Y/N] you ok? You thinking about something?" Asui asked. "No! I'm fine!" I responded quickly and a bit harsh I admit.

But I was lying, I was thinking about something. What did the note say?
