You

It all started with a girl
Whose charcoal hair danced in the wind
The sounds of her steps grew louder and louder
As her head wandered left to right
Desperate to find something of hers

As her eyes travelled to my direction
A smile as big as the ocean
Was plastered on her peach face
As though I was a gift she had been waiting for

We embraced each other in warm hugs
Not wanting to ever let go
Until finally we broke apart
As a wide grin made its way on both of our faces

We talked all day and night long
Our discussion as useful as a white marker
Yet neither of us cared
As long as we're finally back together

Words cannot describe my affection for you
It is as deep as the sea and as wide as the Pacific Ocean
It is as far as from here to Neptune and back
You were truly my better half

We were birds of a feather
Who flocked together through strong currents and hurricanes
I know as long as we're in this together
There is nothing we can't do

But now I'm wearing all-black attire
The sounds of rain hitting my umbrella were stinging my ears
My old and silver hair getting wetter
Tints of red blossoming under my eyes and cheeks

Goodbye my dear friend
There will not be a day
Your radiating laugh and cheerful spirit
Will not cross my mind

Although this day might be full of sorrows
I know there's nothing I regret
We grew old and happy together
I love you, my friend, forever and ever
