ALASKA VIVIANTime has come were, I don't even feel like going home, instead I got the nearest coffee shop. as I enter I can smell the coffee's aroma awakening me, something about COFFEE COMA and there antiques always draw me in. I sit in the booth next to the window, you can see the rain falling. If your living in Washington than you automatically adjust to this weather, and honestly its the best.
I heard my phone buzz and I see Rory's text
"Im here", it said
turn my head and saw her coming in, Rory was your "I hate the cold" and "I wish i lived my a hotter place" kinda girl, it worked for me because we were so different, it kind of worked out.
"hey, its fucking freezing", she said while snuggling in her coat.
"its not that bad, your just being dramatic", I said while sipping my coffee.
"Honestly, I could see you living in Alaska, omg get it Alaska" she said, because her stupid self
"you so funny" I said, with a straight face
"Its 9:15, we should get to college, you know how Mrs. Roberts is" she said while getting up
" yeah, a fucking pain in the ass." I said knowing that bitch will do anything to get her students in trouble.
Getting into my car and blasting music is a giving, I can't go anywhere without music, I don't care if its early or late, I just need it. I see the campus coming up. even though I have Literature for an hours, I don't mind it.
"here we go" I said while getting out.
I hate this school, it's not stereotypical its more we all are fucking annoying, and we come to school to juul and get stupidly drunk. If I could I would've dropped out of college but, when your having family reunions and your the only one who doesn't go to college, your basically a failure. periodt.
In our own way, were all fucked up, just because we don't say it or talk about it, doesn't mean i'm not fucking depressed. I can tell you right now that Rory has sex to forget, because her parents are cynical and cant stop arguing.
I walk into Literature and I can smell the humid air stuck in the fucking corners of the ass school, I take a seat and read our assigned book "The Tipping Point" by far Malcolm Gladwell's has taken my breath away from such life changing theories.
kids start gathering in class, and Mrs. Roberts starts her lecture on our report.
"Alaska, did you finish you report" asked violet, one thing about Violet I know she won't be an ass if your her friend, she might look like a bitch but inside she's a softy.
"No, the Prompt she gave me is hard, last night I just stared at the computer like a fucking idiot" I said laughing
"Dang, Mrs. Prick needs to take that stick out of her ass" she said, Violet HATES Mrs. Roberts. one time she basically called violet a "whore" and Violet just went at her. it was funny.
"But, she was talking to Mr. Johnson that we might have a new kid" she said excitedly
"Well, that's exciting" I say. sarcastically.
"yeah, she said it's a guy from New York, I hope he's attractive!" she squealed.
As I was about to make another sarcastic remark, the door opens and we finally get a light fresh air, as I was enjoying the 5 second lasting air, Violet was looking at the tall muscular guy, with black straight hair. one thing you have to admit is that he has some style, a collared shirt and a sweater on top and some black jeans.
I probably look like a mouse about to get chased by tom, but i'm pretty sure everyone was as galvanized from his looks as I was.
"Well hello, you must be the new student, welcome" Mrs. Roberts said, she looked like she wanted to fuck him right then and there.
"what's your name" she asked him
"Hello, i'm Jaffar Smith" he said with a smooth low voice. his eyes following everyone in the class, and then they lay on me
It was like all the air in the room, literally the 2% air that's in the class left. In that moment I felt all the eyes on be, like the walls were getting closer and closer and than the bell rings.
................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Later that day, i just sat in front of my homework, thinking of that guy. I really don't understand why im thinking of him, literally I don't even know him, except his name Jaffar. who names there kid that, I get it his parents probably loved "Aladin". Ughh i need to stop and finish this damn report.
"Honey", I hear my mom yell
"Yeah", I screamed back. just like I imagined no response, I'm not in the mood to walk all the way downstairs for her to tell me shut the damn light.
"yeah!" I said, one more time
I huffed down the stairs, cursing the gods above for such a lazy mother but then I remember that she's just her for a week.
"What it is your highness" I replied sweetly.
"You should get ready, there going to be here any moment" she said, with her back faced toward me.
"Um who?" Not sure whos coming over.
"OMG, I forgot to tell you, the Smiths moved right next to us. I invited them over" she said quickly.
One thing you should know about my mom is that, she can be really chill but when she does shit like this, I really can't stand her. After dad died she changed, she would have parties and cookouts. while I was crying and being a depressed child she was out with her friends. I guess that was her way of not stressing, but its like she totally forgot she had a child who lost her father.
"Mom, you are here for a week, thats it. why would you invite strangers!" I exclaim
"your being ridiculous, you need more friends. I'm actually helping you" she says stuff like that, that makes me want to jump of a bridge.
"Whatever" I said while going up the stairs.
Picking an outfit was the hardest, should I look shit so they can runaway, or look nice so my mom can get of my back. I chose to dress nice, I know "shocker!", just a simple mint flowy dress with a gray cardigan and my white air force.
I hear the doorbell rings, whoever the "Smiths" are I hope they leave fast.
As I got closer to the door and hear a cheery voice, it was a women in her late thirties. seeing the person behind her, just stops my heart.
Jaffar, the dude I have been thinking about all day, the guy that fucking took all the oxygen out of that room. Was standing in front of my door.
I wanted to curse at my mom for such stupid ideas, why is she alway in my business.
"Hi, you must be Elenor's daughter, you guys look just a like" she said, how does she know my mom?
Before I had time to respond, my super energetic mother took over, "yes this is my daughter, Alaska-Vivian" I wasn't paying attention to anything except that stupid tall boy, its not like a had a crush on him, it was more curiosity. He's just come from, god knows where, and my mom already has information on them.
"It's nice to meet you" I said, with a tight smile
"Oh, I totally forgot!, this is my son Jaffar, darling come say hi!" this women reminds me exactly of the women who birthed me unfortunately.
"Hey" He said, with no emotions what so ever.
I knew this was gonna be a long night.
