His Caretaker (jotakak)

It had been almost a year since Dio had been defeated. Everyone had managed to survive, though they would never be the same again.

Kakyoin's survival was a miracle, the gaping hole in his chest should have killed him but fortunately, the Speedwagon Foundation had managed to help him. The redhead spent two and a half months in one of their hospitals going through surgery after surgery.

The one thing that kept Noriaki from giving up his fight to stay alive was Jotaro. During his entire stay at the hospital, Jotaro had been by his side; bringing him gifts, sneaking him sweets, and keeping him company.

It didn't come as a surprise to anyone when Jotaro volunteered to help Noriaki after the redhead was finally released from the hospital. Noriaki had reluctantly agreed, not wanting to be a burden but also knowing he didn't have anyone else.

Noriaki could barely do anything on his own, having to stay in bed most days because of his pain. He was glad that he had Jotaro, the best friend he had ever had.

Kakyoin sat up carefully in bed, the large scar on his chest starting to cause small flares of pain from his pain meds wearing off. He bit his lip, not wanting to call Jotaro for help even though he knew he needed to.

He slowly pushed himself to the edge of the bed, stopping for a moment to pull his walker closer then moving himself forward again. Noriaki stops, painful huffs coming from him as he tries to catch his breath. He places his hands on his walker and just as he starts to push himself standing, Jotaro walked into the room to check on him. "Nori!"

The redhead wobbled slightly and fell back onto the bed with a harsh whimper, strangled gasps escaping him. Jotaro quickly was at his side, carefully moving him to a comfortable position. "Noriaki, what in the hell do you think you're doing?" He asked, brushing Kakyoin's hair out of his face.

The redhead looked away, embarassed. "It was starting to hurt again..I was going to get my pain meds and some water."

"Nori, you could have called me up here..I would have gotten it for you." The onyx haired male says, watching Kakyoin with worry in his eyes.

A soft whimper came from Noriaki as he turned back and met Jotaro's eyes, "I just..I don't like bothering you and I wanted a chance to get out of this room...JoJo...I hate this....I don't want to be like this anymore."

Jotaro furrows his eyebrows and stands up, "Well, you don't have to be in here." He says, scooping Kakyoin up in his arms and carrying him out of the bedroom before the redhead can ask what he means. Noriaki holds onto Jotaro as he gets brought to the living room couch and set down carefully.

He brought Noriaki his pain meds and water, running his hand through the redhead's soft hair as he takes his meds. He waits a bit for Kakyoin's pain to settle before he speaks, "Nori, would you like to try to go to the park? I can pack some snacks and your art stuff..." Jotaro said slowly, wanting to make Noriaki happy.

He knew he succeeded when Noriaki's face lit up with excitement, a sweet smile gracing his lips.

"That would be amazing Jotaro! I'm so excited, I could almost kiss you!" Kakyoin chirps happily, he couldn't wait to be outside and enjoy the fresh air.

"Oh? Go ahead then, you can kiss me. I don't mind" Jotaro says, not realizing it was just a figure of speech. Kakyoin blushes darkly, wanting to explain himself "JoJo- I'm not actually going to kiss you, it was just a figure of speech."

" ..Well that doesn't seem fair. " Jotaro mumbled, getting up and loading things into his car for their trip to the park. Kakyoin waited patiently on the couch, wanting to get up and get in the car himself but knowing his body wouldn't let him at the moment. He hoped tomorrow would be one of his good days, where he would actually be able to walk around without the pain being too much.

Jotaro soon came back and carefully scooped Kakyoin up, carrying him to the car before setting him down and buckling him up. The taller man then got in the driver's seat and they headed off to their destination. During the ride there, Kakyoin felt a hand in his hair. Curiously, he glanced over only to see Star Platinum inches away from his face, the stand's purple skinned hand still in Kakyoin's red hair.

Immediately, Jotaro noticed and began fussing his stand for coming out without being called on. "JoJo, don't fuss him..Star is a big sweetheart." Kakyoin chimed in, giving the stand a light peck on the cheek. Jotaro pulled his hat down a bit to hide the faint blush on his face, "Good grief." He mumbled, causing Kakyoin to chuckle lightly.

Soon enough, they arrived at their destination and Jotaro helped Kakyoin out, making sure he got settled in a nice spot without any trouble. Once everything was figured out and the taller teen had bundled Kakyoin up in a few blankets, they sat on the ground together and watched as some children played a game a few feet away.

"Jotaro..I want to thank you for everything you've done for me. You didn't have to take the flesh bud out of me all that time ago and you didn't have to volunteer to be my caretaker when I was released from the hospital..but you did it anyway.." He paused, taking a moment before continuing.

"And..when I was in the hospital, going through so many surgeries..you stayed by my side, bringing me gifts and cheering me up. It kept me alive, Jotaro. You kept me alive... Thank you." The redhead finished, a single tear rolling down his cheek.

Soon a hand came up and carefully wiped the tear away, "Please don't cry. I don't like seeing tears on your face and neither does Star." Jotaro said, moving closer to Kakyoin and carefully wrapping his arms around the fragile male trying his best not to hurt him.

Kakyoin relaxed in Jotaro's arms. Those strong arms that always protected him. He felt at home, locked within them. "I love you, Jotaro."

With that, Jotaro placed a gentle kiss to Kakyoin's forehead before holding him just a bit tighter, making sure he knew he was safe.

"I love you too, Noriaki."
