SPN fanfic: Lucifer and OC character, Jophiel

---

Out of now where, Jophiel felt a pang of pain in her stomach. She grabbed at it, bowing her head and clenching her teeth. The pain was unbearable as she felt a prescence enter the room. She turned around quickly, looking at Lucifer. He seemed dead, but he wasn't. The look in his eyes was haunting. His vessel was growing gaunt and weaker by the moments.

"Lucifer....Something happened," She whispered through clenched teeth. She held herself up leaning onto a chair. "Something happened to Gabriel."

Lucifer looked away from her, swallowing hard. "I know." He mumbled.

"What? How do you know?" She asked, making an effort to go closer to him as the pain began to fade away.

Lucifer said nothing as turned completely away from her, walking towards a window, hands behind his back.

An expression of fear fell over her face like a veil. "Lucifer....What happened?" She inquired, slowly walking closer to him. "Lucifer....Please. Tell me." She put a hand on his shoulder. Lucifer still said nothing as he turned his head half way to look at her, a sad look in his eyes. He almost looked as if he would shed a tear. Jophiel's grip on his shoulder tightened. "Brother...." She whispered. "I beg you...Tell me what happened.

He sighed heavily, walking away from her. Lucifer knew how angry Jophiel would be and he did not want to be near her when her wrath came out. "I....I killed Gabriel." He said bluntly with a thick voice.

Jophiel's mind went blank at his words. Her eyes averted to the ground. She thought that at the very least, Gabriel would be badly injured. But dead....And at her eldest brother's hands? She couldn't have guessed that. "Lucifer how could you?" She asked in a near-breathless tone. "He....He loved you so much." Her lips trembled as she put her hand over her mouth. "He-He loved you."

Lucifer closed his eyes and swallowed back his emotions. He refused to let them show.  "I know he did."

"Then why?" Her voice rose. "Why did you kill him?"

"He was going to kill me."

"He wanted to stop you!"

"How would you know?" He said harshly as he swiftly turned around to look at her. "Don't expect me to believe you can read his mind to because of that little inch of grace you had of his."

Jophiel shook her head, tears rolling down her cheeks. "I know....I know because out of all of us, Gabriel was the most peaceful. The most loving. He cared more than anyone I have known-"

"He was a sheep. Just like the rest of you." He turned back around, calming himself by closing his eyes and freezing the window.

Jophiel rolled her eyes. "I just....I just don't understand how you could kill your brother."

"Have you not killed anyone before, Jophiel? For the sake of your own being?"

"It wasn't for the sake of your being, Lucifer, It was for the sake of your revenge!" She yelled, taking a few more strides towards him. "I was against everything else you are going until you convinced me otherwise. But this...The killing of my brother. My little brother who I love so dearly....I cannot forgive this. You don't  have my trust anymore, Lucifer. This is unforgivable."

Lucifer could feel his sadness growing inside of him, threatening to overflow. "Don't you leave me, Jo....Don't you dare."

"Why should I stay?"

"Because let's face it," He turned to look at her, eyes watering. But once the water hit his face, it turned to ice. "I'm the only one who will take you."

Jophiel said nothing. The anger inside of her was at a fever pitch as she took several strides towards him until she was face to face with him, which was admittedly difficult because she was nearly a foot shorter than him. "I don't need anyone to take me." She responded in a gritty tone, staring into his eyes. Since the day Lucifer was created, there was no one who could stand up to him; Not like Jophiel could. Sure, some would try. But they either died, like Gabriel, or chickened out. As for Jophiel, she brought Lucifer to his knees.

Lucifer did and said nothing as he stared into her eyes. They pleaded with her; Please, don't go....You are all I have left.

"You always taught me to be my own being, to never bow down to anyone else. I keep your lessons very close to my heart. And I will be damned if I am controlled by the person who told me to never allow myself to be controlled."

He still stayed silent.

"I love you, Lucifer; I always have and I always will. But just because I love you, doesn't mean I will ever be able to forgive you for the actions have done out of pure spite and a thirst for revenge."

Finally, he looked away. "I still remember when Father made you, introducing his unnamed newest creation. And do you know what I said?"

"Tvrbs ol oiad,"  Jophiel whispered. "Beauty of God."

"It sounds cliche nowadays but regardless, there was no better way to describe you. You challenged me in your greatness. Your grace was....Perfect. Flawless. You are the last of us, Jo. The last of us archangels. Wear that title with great pride, Jophiel."

Jophiel sighed heavily as a single tear escaped her eye. "I'm sorry, Lucifer."

"Don't be sorry. You are doing what is right for yourself. I am proud of you."

Jophiel said nothing as she stared at him. It nearly tore her in two having to leave her brother behind. He was all she had left. But if there was anything Jophiel knew, Lucifer needed her more than she needed him. And if there ever came a time where he was humble enogh to admit it, he'd come and get her.

Jophiel arrived at the place where Gabriel's empty vessel laid dead. She sucked in her bottom lip to prevent her outburst. She feel to her knees beside him, curling his hair around his ear. "Oh Gabe...." She whispered as she pulled his vessel to her chest. "I'm here now, brother." Jophiel closed her eyes, tears falling onto his empty vessel's face. "I won't leave you again."
