Brett's POV
"He ate how many pizza bagels?!" I asked, laughing. We still had a few minutes before class started so I was chatting with Ricky and Alan by some of the lockers.
"Thirty, but then he threw them all up about an hour later!" Alan laughed.
"That's so gross!" Now we were all laughing.
"I will never understand your brother," Ricky added after catching his breath. Alan shrugged. "Honestly, me neither. He's just weird."
Just then, I saw something shining from the corner of my eye. I looked to see that it was a ring on Claudia's finger.
Claudia!
I don't know what it was about Claudia, but there was something really intriguing about her. Whether it was in a good or bad way, I still had yet to figure out. In the meantime, I was definitely going to get to know her better. Zach can say whatever he wants, but I haven't seen anything that would really classify Claudia as "dangerous."
"Hey, Claudia." Ricky and Alan turned to face Claudia and waved. She walked towards our direction.
"Hey, Brett, and Brett's friends." She gave a shy smile and stood there silently. There was a moment of silence before I realized that she was expecting me to introduce her to Ricky and Alan.
"Oh yeah, these are my friends, Ricky and Alan. They are also football players. Guys, this is Claudia."
"Back at it again with the white Vans!" Alan said with a laugh. Claudia gave him a puzzled look. "It's a Vine reference." She silently mouthed the word "oh" and nodded her head.
It was then that I noticed her outfit. Her hair was in a low ponytail and she was wearing a light blue sweater and jeans with white Vans, a far cry from the edgier looks Brodie and I saw over the last couple days.
"What's with the outfit?" I asked. "It makes you look like almost every other girl here." Her eyes moved towards both sides and her voice grew quieter as she spoke.
"I'm trying to keep a low-profile." Ricky raised an eyebrow. "What? I don't want to draw a ton of attention to myself, especially considering that I just got here."
"Coming from the girl who upset Polly. We follow her on Snapchat. We saw her story." Yikes. This is not going to end well. So far, it doesn't look like Claudia made a good first impression towards Ricky.
"In my defense, she was being quite rude to me and I had every right to do what I did." She flipped her ponytail off her shoulder, making a few small strands of hair fall out and frame her face.
"What did you do?" I asked. I really wanted to hear the whole story, even it is from the perspective of the "mean girl." I have no idea what happened, but Claudia was clearly quite pleased with herself.
"She got mad at me because I apparently was in her seat. I mean, I would understand if there were assigned seats, but there weren't. At least none that I knew of."
"Yeah, that's Polly for you." That was all I could say to that because that was Polly for you. The youngest St. Dean was your stereotypical mean girl: rich, gorgeous, cheer captain, dating a football player who's a total jerk, and of course, an absolute diva. She always got her way, even at the expense of others.
"Wait, guys, when did she update her story?" Alan asked all paranoid.
"Yesterday after school," Ricky answered.
"Have you guys have seen it already?"
"Yeah," I nodded. My eyes widened at him. "You didn't?" Alan shook his head. "Dude, you have to watch it! It will go away in a few hours!"
