"Who are you?"
"Demon to some. Angel to others."

A gentle breeze swept across the summer afternoon, and with it came the smell of happiness. Of salty popcorn and sweet cotton candy. As the joyful smell crept into her nose Brooklyn smiled. She had always loved the fair, particularly the Ferris Wheel. She loved being able to escape and pretend she was a child again, excitedly waiting in line for all the rides. The afternoon soon drifted into the evening, the sun dipped behind the horizon and was replaced by the moon. Brooklyn was waiting patiently in line for the Merry-Go-Round, most of the younger children had gone home, so she didn't feel as bad when she lined up for a children ride. Her friends Noah, Jess and Finn stood behind her, less enthusiastic but nevertheless happy to accompany her. As they approached the front of the line they were met by an older woman with dark brown hair. She looked the group up and down, her lips pressed into a thin line.

"Under 12's only" She said irritatedly and pointed to the sign beside her.

Brooklyn raised a brow. "Are you serious? We paid for an all rides pass"

The woman rolled her eyes and again pointed to the sign. "If your not under 12 then get out of the line." She snapped and Jess reached out and grabbed Brooklyn's arm. "Come on." She said as she pulled her out of the line.

"How stupid was that?!" Brooklyn exclaimed. Noah smiled at her gently. "Come on Brook, who needs her? Let's get something to eat instead." He suggested. "I'll even buy you a strawberry milkshake." He added playfully and Brooklyn cracked a smile.

"Ok."

The group soon had their food and were just waiting on Brooklyn's milkshake, which Noah had indeed paid for.

"Brook, we're going to grab that seat, meet us there." Jess said and they ran to grab the table  before anyone else could. Before long Brooklyn had her milkshake, but as she turned to leave she ran straight into someone. Her milkshake splattering all over his shirt and pants.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry!" She cried out and grabbed some napkins. The boy chuckled and looked up at her, flashing a smile. "Its ok. No harm done." She couldn't help but notice the strange colour of his eyes. They were a deep green, like a forest, but they had a hint of something that she just couldn't place.

"Are you sure?" She asked, she felt so embarrassed. "Its fine, I can't say the same about your milkshake though. Would you like a new one?" The boy asked thoughtfully. "Oh no it's fine." She insisted. "Are you sure? I can-" She cut him off before he could finish.
