WARNING: SLIGHT GORE
The girl she's been thinking about since the day she met her, was right in front of her. She was there and she was beautiful. She was beautiful and she was.......bleeding?
It took Dana's eyes a few seconds to figure out what she was seeing, but once she did, the tears came hard. Michelle was hurt, really hurt. She was weak, and she decided to weaken herself even more by using her magic to call on Dana.
She lay on a bed of sunflowers, blood splattered everywhere. She was holding her side, blood gushing through her hand. She was groaning in pain, but once she saw Dana, she put on a weak smile.
"You came," Michelle's voice was hoarse and weak. A trickle of blood rolled down her face, disappearing behind her curls. In this moment, realization hit Dana like a truck.
'She hurt and she's.... No! I'm not gonna go there. I'm gonna save her and she's gonna live. I have to stay optimistic. If not me, then who else?'
Dana ran up to Michelle, examining her wound. When she pulled her hand away, she found an enormous gash in her side. Someone had stabbed her, and dragged it through to make it as painful as possible. The tears fell harder now.
"No,don't cry," Michelle placed her hand on Dana's cheek. She could feel the blood warming her face. It felt as though it was staining her face, engraving itself into Dana's skin.
"No, don't..... don't talk. Save your energy," Dana struggles to say these words through her tears. She ripped the hem of her dress, balled it up, and applied pressure to the wound. Her hands shook as blood soaked through the fabric. Michelle's blood on her hands.
'She not gonna die, she's gonna survive. I just met her, I want to know her more. I want the maps of her body engraved into my memory. I want to know her history, I want to be apart of her future. I want to know her for the rest of my life. I love ....."
She loved her. Even though she just met her, she loved her. They had one measly interaction and she loved her. Michelle showed Dana her first bout of kindness and she loved her. Dana had broken her oath to never fall in love, and for Michelle, she would do it a million times overThe tears came harder and faster. Blurring Dana's vision and stinging her eyes. A sharp since from Michelle borough Dana back. She had been pressing on the wound to hard, basically squeezing the blood out of Michelle rather than clotting it.
If this wound wasn't gonna kill Michelle, Dana could just have easily done it. She ripped another piece of fabric from her dress and repeated the process. Michelle's hand wiped the tears from Dana's face, replacing them with smeared blood.
"Tell me...... tell me your name," Michelle was moving through the planes of conscious and unconsciousness. "Tell me..... I wanna..... I wanna know." Her eyes closed for a few seconds, but just as quickly they opened back up.
"My name is," Dana's voice caught in her throat, "It's Dana, my name's Dana"
"A name fit for a warrior and a beauty such as..." Michelle's voice faded and her hand fell to her side, but she was still breathing. Dana had to do this part as quick as she could. She grabs her tools from her basket- wine, thread, needle, and some medicated cloth-and got to work.
She used the wine to cleanse the wound, careful not to use too much as not to kill any good germs. She used the thread and needle to stitch the wound, working slowly as not to cause any unnecessary damage. Dana found some moss and packed it into the wound. Lastly, she took the cloth and wrapped it around Michelle's sides.
Dana collapses next to Michelle in exhaustion.
'What am I gonna do? I can't take her back to my cottage, that's almost an hour's walk. More than an hour which her on my back. I can't take her back to her place, I don't know where that is. I can't possibly.....'
Dana drifted to sleep with these questions on her mind, next to the girl she loved.
"You are a battlefield. Never will there be a greater war than the one you hold with yourself."
