The next thing that caught my interest was the light seeping through the window. Bright yellow rays of sunshine. Then I started to notice the room around me and the woman-my mother- beside me. The room was a light shade of green and had nothing much in it. My mother was sleeping. Her hair spread about the pillow. She looked peaceful. Then suddenly I felt really sleepy and fell asleep in an instant.
If I were to tell you that I remembered all this, what would you say? That I'm crazy or making things up? Yeah, that's what I thought. Maybe if it were, about two months ago, I would think that too. But now, everything has changed.
The train that I am sitting in, is headed out of the city. Away from the mess I was involved in. It's true that I can now access all parts of my brain like some reference book, but the horrors that led to it....
My birth seems like a mere fragment of my memory. Like just a line in the aforementioned reference book. I can remember every single day of my life, ever single dream, every single wound.
The fire at the facility killed everyone. At least that's what they think. That's why I need to get away. So that they don't find me. 'Cause they know about my abilities. And they will kill me.
They were the ones that did this to me. And now they think it's too dangerous.
They wanted perfection. That's what they named the project.
Project: Perfection
They wanted to make us perfect. And they did. But they took it too far. And they realised it too late.
I was kidnapped after a long day at work. It was nearing midnight and I was really sleepy. I had given my car for servicing, so I had to walk home. There was no moon in the sky and coincidentally, the street lights were also out. Maybe it wasn't a coincidence. I would never know.
I was suddenly struck by something really heavy and the next thing I remember is being in a cage of some sort. I then noticed other people in other cages. Some were screaming, some howling and crying- afraid of the situation they were in. But I suppose the place we were in was soundproof. Nobody came for us. I clearly remember that day. Without a doubt I was absolutely terrified.
From the next day onward, people started disappearing. Sometimes one and others, a whole bunch. And they never returned. When it was my turn, I found out why.
They were conducting experiments. They were using us as lab rats. We were electrocuted, operated on, observed, studied and everything else.
About a day or two ago, without warning, the facility was set on fire. It was the day they found out exactly how dangerous we could be.
Now, I'm free.
And someday, I'm going to find a way to get back at them.
