Autumn leaves were falling around me as I read my biology textbook, studying for a quiz. I wore something that I didn't care so much about so my body could lay across the pile of leaves. I could hear birds chirping around me and it was the type of sound that soothed me.
Until I heard leaves shuffling from afar and the birds all scattered, cawing scarily. I thought maybe it was a squirrel so I paid no mind to it.
I could read less though since it has gotten so quiet, my concentration disappearing. I rolled over and got up, scrubbing dirt off my legs and arms and everything seemed normal. Until I saw movement a close distance from me.
It was dark, like if I was deep in a cave, so I turned my head just a little bit so I could witness whatever it was near me, without it hopefully spotting me.
Only it already had.
It has tall ears, blue captivating eyes, a long snout, and a closed mouth. It was lying down in the leaves, not frightened by me... And why would it be.
After all it's an intimidating wolf and I am just a teen girl.
