Dawn Berlitz is the daughter of a very wealthy family from Hearthome City. Despite of her well-heeled nature, she is very humble who don't want to brag about her family's riches, properties and such as it was kept as a secret to most of her friends. Her level of intelligence exceeds far from others for she used to be reading a lot of books at home during her homeschooling days.

Growing up with her childhood friend Barry whom she treats as her "big brother", she acquired several traits of him such as liking video games and anime. Also, through him she learned to adopt the life of a commoner.

As a Pokémon Trainer, she is a very skillful one when it comes to battles and performing on Pokémon Contests. She collects a variety of Pokémon accordingly to her tastes. Her love for her Pokémon comes from the very bottom of her heart and will do anything to protect her loved ones.
