An Affair.

Annika fumbles at the edge of the staircase. In her stupor she walked out of the room feeling nauseated. She ditched the lift and walked down the staircase. Unconsciously she reached ground floor, she was preoccupied. When did she left the room and suffocating four walls, she didn't know. She walked soullessly. completely detached with the world, alienated.
She also realised, It's very easy to blame someone for our miseries but when tables turn, it breaks a person to thousands of pieces. Annika thought hard ,it always took her to the day when she decided to leave her dreams for her family, if she didn't made that decision lots of things would have been different. She would have been happier with Shivaay, Rohit would have escaped his life. Because even if he had told about Subodh, they would not have accepted. That's a different thing altogether, but everything goes back if she made a correct decision at that time.

when we realise everything is reaction to our own actions. The choices we made, it open whole new world to us, everything we knew crumbles down to ashes, our world turns up side down. Same was happening with Annika, she was blaming Rohit continuously for the unhappiness she lived with, she blamed her family too, but in fact everything was in her hands, she just needed a courage to reach out for it. If she had that ounce of courage in her life, it would have been different. At least hers would have been a happy one.

When she came back to reality, thanks to the sharp pain causing on her toe. Which She wasn't bothered about, but heard someone calling her name. Then realized where was she? Why she got lost and who is calling her name? And suddenly the legs gave up, she couldn't stand now, failed to control the weight,she sat on the stairs giving a loud wail. Then only she realised the injured toe, a red liquid oozing out of it.

She can't bear anything right now, not hee life, situation and not even the injuries. Holding injured toe she wailed in pain again and again, which hurt her most? she doesn't know. Her bad decisions or the injury. But it was paining like hell. She destroyed four lives, now she can't even correct it.

Rohit's confession broke her more, he was Right, she could have stopped all of this, she was capable and brave enough to do it. But she didn't do it.

It was a silly decision but with grave consequences. She cried harder, unbearable to the man standing right beside her, who was looking pale with Regrets and helplessness.

Shivaay was worried like hell! tense, afraid, he fanatically left Rohit, when he realised Annika wasn't there, corridors and parking area he looked all around only to get disappointment. He cursed himself for being so ignorant. when he at last looking for her on the lobby area he felt her presence and saw a devastated Annika, holding her toe which was bleeding. What he felt on finding her was unexplainable.

"Annika! where were you? I was looking for you everywhere." He straight away went to tend hee wound.
" This is not acceptable Annika, you can't do this! you can't shut me like this. Whenever you feel weak you just shut yourself up and don't give me a chance to mend things". He wrapped handkerchief over her toe. While scolding her. Annika wasn't listening. Her cries were subdued but she wasn't listening to him.
"Listen to me, I am with you, in anything and everything. Understand? I am with you, in every step you take, every path you walk, I am here for you, holding your hand. So don't shut the only door that leads to you. Talk to me, tell me how you feel, how would I know if you don't speak." He urged, but Annika was still crying out in pain, it was not her toe this time, it's her heart which needs amends.

"Don't cry, please don't cry, I know it hurts but I am here for you. Annika look at me, Look at me.." Shivaay was trying to calm her down. Just as she looked at his eyes, she burst into fresh tears.

"I am sorry, I am sorry, this is what I deserve Shivaay, this is what I deserve to feel, I abandoned you, giving priority to everything else, everything but you. This is justice Shivaay, I caused you pain, see now, I am getting it back. " She laughed in pain. Shivaay was tearing up too, but he controlled his emotions and picked her up without replying or saying anything. And settles her in car. And he just drove, without trying anything to calm her down because she won't listen. Annika blabbering everything she had kept inside her heart. Some understandable, lots of incoherent talks and just like that she fell into slumber. Shivaay drove to his penthouse.
On reaching the house, Shivaay scooped her in his arms and walked to his apartment. Placing her in a comfortable position he applied ointment to wounded toe. She was so exhausted, didn't feel anything. She was in deep sleep. Covering with a warm duvet he placed a hesitant kiss on forehead and walked out of the room.
