05 - Discussions and Dealings

Jungkook POV

Taehyung barged into my room. "Jungkook, you won't believe what just happened. Seoul Gaming Nationals just send me an email and a tweet on twitter and I'm in the finals. I'm so excited. We will be splitting into two groups of five. And pinkjjk is there too. I will finally get to see his face and promise me you'll be there just in the audience, cheering me up." He said practically panting. I was kind of taking a minute to let all of what he just said sink in. "You should quit gaming and maybe think about rapping as a career." I said sarcastically. "Hey, but seriously will you come?" Taehyung asked showing his puppy face.

I froze contemplating on what to tell him. "Oh, I have a very important assignment that's due that day." I said trying to act cool. "But, it's on a Sunday..." Taehyung said questioning my answer. "Oh, I meant t-the day a-after, tuesday I m-mean monday" I said stammering, something you should never do when lying. "Okay....I'll be going out to get some coffee after some time. You wanna come?" Taehyung asked me with a suspicious eye. "Sure, I'll be there." Declining the offer would not be a good idea especially since he is suspicious.

Yoongi POV

I woke up in the morning, and thought I'd make some coffee. As I went down to our open kitchen, Jimin was there making coffee, which was weird cause he usually prefers tea over coffee. Oh, Yoongi hyung, I'm glad you woke, I wanted to tell you something. I sat on the counter eating the breakfast Jimin made for me. "Well, Yoongi hyung, there state level hip hop battle coming up and my dance crew is putting me up for the selection."

I stopped doing everything at the word 'state level hip hop battle'. But it was easy for me to act cool since my eyes didn't hold much emotion. "Go on...." I said wondering why Jimin is telling me this. "Um well, you see....I'm really, you know, nervous.....about...the audition......and it would be a real big......help if somebody.....came along with me." He said while playing with the hem of his sweater. I just smiled and nodded. "You'll come with me?! Oh my god, thank you so much." Jimin said leaving.

Time skip to Audition

"Next" I heard the judge say from inside. I wished Jimin good luck and he went in. After a few minutes he came out with a bottle of water. "So, how was it?" I asked curious to know. "I was a bit nervous but once the beat dropped, the music moved my body." Jimin said scratching the back of his head. "Which song did you play to by the way?" I asked. "I don't even know the name of the song actually. It's Agust D. Speaking of which, I went his hood yesterday and he didn't rap.

I was really sad cause I only went to see him." Jimin said thinking about yesterday. I really felt bad. I felt like I did not give him my best performance and that he came for nothing. I felt useless to be exact. I was lost in trance when a lady came out and stuck a paper on the board. It was for the selected members. Jimin reached the board in a dash and I could see his face gleaming. It's pretty obvious he got selected, I was so happy for him but couldn't help but think how it's gonna end up.

Jungkook POV

I just came back after going to the cafe with Taehyung. I fell onto my bed and looked up at the ceiling thinking what gonna happen in the near future. One lie leads to another cause obviously we'll make more lies to cover up the first one. Besides, am I gonna be on Taehyung's team or are we gonna be on opposites again? How will he react to all of this? Suddenly,  I got a call from Jimin. I picked it up. "Hello?" I said. "Oh jungkook-ah thank god you picked up. Hoseok wanted me to give a message to Yoongi cause apparently he's not picking up his phone and that to I'm outside buying some grocery.

Would you mind telling him that he has to stay back for finishing the song at the university?" Jimin asked. "Sure, no problem." I said. "Thank you. Talk to you later, bye!" Jimin cut the phone. It's probably because Yoongi is a student mastering in music and they usually store their songs at the university's hard disk  cause it has storage space. I walked over to Yoongi's and Taehyung's room which was just after our rooms.

Yoongi POV

I was making a vlog. Jimin was out and I figured it was the perfect time. It's a place where I go to talk about my music as 'Agust D'. I have the black background and wore my mask and hoodie and started the vlog. Less than two minutes into the vlog, someone almost barged in. I stopped talking and I canceled the vlog and was stuck there in place. It was jungkook. "Yoongi?" Jungkook looked at me surprised. "Is there anyone with you?" I whisper screamed at hum.  He shook his head "Then close the damn door." I said whispering. "OH MY GOD!!! You are that anonymous rapper that trended two days ago." Jungkook screamed in sudden realisation. "Keep it down!" I said. "First of all, knock before getting into my room. It's the rule, okay!" I said.

"Hehe, I never had a habit of doing that. But you might wanna explain this?" Jungkook said looking around my room. I know there is no point hiding anymore but I was a bit reluctant to break it to him. Jungkook, seeing this, came closer and said. "If you don't want to say it, don't worry I have a secret too. I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours. "What's the point of that?" I asked. "So that you know, you won't rat me out and I won't rat you out." Jungkook said. "So, I've been having this huge crush on Jimin and he never noticed me. One day, I suddenly started trending on twitter and Jimin seems to be falling for 'Agust D' but he doesn't know it's me. And now there is the state level hip hop battle coming up and my group aswell as a Jimin solo is selected. I have no idea how it's gonna end up." I said rubbing my temples.

"Hyung, we both kind of have the same story. I have a huge crush on taehyung too. So, he likes to game a lot but I've been acting dumb about gaming in front of him. I bought the equipments and stuff with the help of Jin hyung and I'm playing as 'pinkjjk'." I nearly cracking up at the username. "Jin hyung lend me the name." Jungkook said. "And so anyways, I'm first place in the entire game and taehyung and I have been selected for the nationals too." Jungkook said worried about how it gonna turn out. All I know is, Jungkook and I, we're both screwed. "That too, yoongi hyung, hoseok hyung said you'll have to stay back at the university." I nodded knowing it's probably to finish composing the song we are working on.
