"Mom you never let me do anything!" Jackie J.  marched up the stairs into her room where she could have peace and silence. Jackie could not stand the way her mom was treating her. She was sick of being bossed around and treated like a 6 year old. Jackie never gets to do much of what her friends do like go shopping or just play outside with her friends... Jackie is not the only child.. she also has 3 brothers: Jacob 3 Justin 2 and Johnny 12 months. Jackie always has work to do, she would either have to wash the dishes, vacuum the house, take out the trash or even change her brother's Diapers yuck! Jackie's mom Sarah was never available, she never gave Jackie the support system or the attention she needed and when ever Jackie wanted to show her mom something her mom often gave her the what Jackie calls the "Stop Sign Hand". Thomas, Jackie's dad always worked long hours, Jackie barley sees her dad on school nights... Jackie truly believes she has thee worst life ever because she doesn't go out much and her family is chaotic.

One day Jackie decided she needed to do something with her life, She did not want to grow up without having a memorable and fun-filled childhood. Jackie wanted to have a discussion with her parents, but the problem is she needs their attention, she has to find the perfect time when her parents aren't distracted. Jackie went down stairs and walked into the kitchen, there, reading the paper at the table and drinking Cranberry juice was her mom. Jackie's mom must have had put her 3 brothers to sleep since its this quite she thought. Sarah looked up from the paper staring deeply into Jackie's eyes. "Mom, are you doing anything right now?? "well yes honey, reading the paper.. why what's up??" "wheres dad?" Jackie asked. "He's down stairs  doing some research..." "Okay see you in a few." Jackie couldn't let her mom in on what she was doing or else the whole plan would fail. Jackie went down to the basement taking two staires at a time anxious to convince her dad to come up the stairs. "Hey dad, I'm sorry to interrupt your studying but can i ask you to come up stairs." "why honey, is it gonna take long because i have to get this report done..." "not at all dad... not at all..."

Jackie  had her parents right where she needed them, it was a picture perfect moment. With her brothers still sleeping and her parents together in the same room with out distractions... Jackie was smiling inside. "Okay, what is so important dear" her dad said. "Mom,dad i  don't know where exactly to start this off but i feel as if you guys are never there for me you're either to busy or doing things that take up all of your time... I'm  feeling really disappointed you guys are not giving me the support system and the attention i need, i can totally understand your busy and all but now that we have a new edition to the family i feel left out... I'm constantly doing work and never getting outside and enjoying my childhood, all i ask of you is that you make me feel that i am important and that I'm not missing out ... in life because you only live once." Jackie's mom was nearly in tears, Sarah was never of an emotional person but that showed Jackie that they were listening and they really got the message. "oh honey, I'm honestly so sorry that you feel that way, you are so right we haven't been giving you the attention you need, Sarah looked at her husband and then continued to talk. " your father and i both agree that you should be treated differently and that you should do the things kids your age do... so from now on we will give you more opportunities to go out and if you ever need something were always here for you." Jackie beamed as she saw the look of compassion on her mom and dad's faces Jackie never thought she had the will power to speak up.. and now that Jackie took it upon herself to be brave  she got want she had always wanted..... a loving, supporting family. Jackie now has more shopping sprees with her mom and her dad  reserves dates to spend with his daughter.

Jackie  J. is now... a happy camper!!
