When I see you [2yeon Prom AU]

Another night, it's prom night

It was around six o'clock when I pulled up on your driveway. I was careful enough not to ruin my suit. I think I look pretty good in it and so I hope you find it the same way. I rang the doorbell twice before your dad greeted me with a big hug and a huge smile. Me and your father always got along pretty well and I'm sure now that he knows my little secret, but we don't talk about that. I didn't wait much for you to come downstairs, I was just in time. In time to see how gorgeous and spectacular you looked. My throat felt dry, I was speechless from such beauty standing in front of me. And I had to be thankfully for your mother and father for interrupting my staring. I wasn't sure if you were just shy, but your cheeks turned a light pink when you saw me. For a slip second, we were lost in our eyes.

We bid our goodbyes but not before your parents took a photo of us.

On our ride, we were silent. I tried keeping my eyes on the road most of the time, but i couldn't help myself from stealing glances at you. I wondered what was on your mind as you kept your eyes on the side of the road.

"It's rude to stare, specially if you are driving" she brought me back to reality. I gave a fake cough hoping that I didn't get caught but she is smarter.

"Nah, I just couldn't help but think how ugly that dress looks on you!" I laughed and she just pushed me, laughing as well.

"Even you, don't believe that lie you just said." She laughed hitting my shoulder again. I couldn't help but to smile from ear to ear. I wanted to provoke her a little, so I sped up a little but she caught on my trick.

"Don't you dare go faster Yoo Jeongyeon!"

I only chuckled.

We met outside the entrance with Sana, Dahyun, Momo, Chaeyoung, and Mina. Jihyo and Tzuyu were already inside because they were part of the yearbook club and had to be there to take pictures. To be honest, I just think Tzuyu join the club on purpose, but we'll never know.

This was it, the night in which things could possibly go right or so wrong. We are just young and reckless. We were in just for the fun memories of a day which will look back and laugh about.

Music was blasting as soon as we open the entrance, it was good music.

Everything seemed so surreal, from Mr. Park dancing like a pro to Lalisa becoming our new DJ because the one they hired, YG, sucked!!

We were having fun. We knew deep down that we had grown so much yet we still hold to our worries and problems. We were all different yet all the same. Nayeon seemed to enjoy herself even more, smiling from ear to ear. Her cute bunny smile, that did things in my heart, was so radiant. I had to go back to reality once he walked her way.

Jinyoung

I walked away from you, not wanting to hear what he asked you or what you were talking about. I suddenly had the urge to go smoke but I didn't. Nayeon had asked me to stop multiple times and this time around I had listen to her. Always her, isn't? I do everything she ask. Did I cut my long hair for her? Maybe. Or do I cheat in the claw machine games for her? Yes.

"Hey bro, it's going to be alright. They are probably talking about the nominations. Remember they were chosen to be Queen and King, but we don't know if they will." Chaeyoung came to my side to reassure me but they were all empty words to me. What I wanted to do is to keep her away from him. This burning feeling is killing me.

"come on Jeongyeon, let's go look for some snack" Sana pulls me by my arm leading me somewhere. I sense a certain girl giving me a side eye but Dahyun's eyes aren't the ones I want upon me.

After a couple of minutes, we found snacks by where Jihyo and Tzuyu were.

"Jeongyeon! Sana! Let us take a picture of your guys!" Jihyo shouted through the music. We agreed to it and we even demanded for a cute caption to our photo. Well more like Sana demanded, I was alright with what Tzuyu had in mind.

"See you guys!" The waved us goodbye and before taking a few more steps I turn around to face Jihyo.

"Take her out to dance, not everything is work God Jihyo"

When we came back to the others, we found everyone chit chatting about who would win Queen and King. Would it be Irene and Taehyung, Jennie and Kai, or Nayeon and Jinyoung. I would love to see Jennie and Kai win, but I don't think Lisa would be so happy. I was just there listening to their gossip and lies.

"Hey, where have you been? I've been looking for you!" Her voice brought me back, well more like her smack on my shoulder.

"I'm just hanging around. Looking around. See over there! Chaeng and Mina seem like a good couple. And Momo is only here for the good food" I said as I pointed towards each of them. It was a sight to see even in the dim light.

"Yah! Jeongyeon, don't leave alone. Boys are coming over to talk to me and I don't have time for that!"

Slowly the erratic music fades away and a slow song came on. I looked around me and there were couples forming around us. It felt awkward to be there, so I took a few steps back wanting to get away. Until her hand stopped me from taking another step.

"don't leave me here standing like an idiot. Let's dance!" she pouted and that melt my heart.

"I mean, don't you want to dance with other boys or Jinyo-"She stopped me mid-sentence.

"No, you are here with me."
