CH.5 Secret

We headed to his office and once we got there we took a seat and it was silent for a couple of seconds.
Dr. Chan: so about your mother
Sunmi: What is it?
Dr. Chan: I don't think she's gonna live much longer...
Sunmi: What?? What do you mean???
Dr. Chan: So we found out that there are drugs in her system and...
Sunmi: and????
Dr. Chan: we also found a tumor in the back of her head...it's growing slowly but it could end up growing faster
When I heard him say that about my mom I broke down into tears. I didn't know what to say I was so shocked. How am I supposed to tell y/n and Wonho???
Sunmi: Doctor?
Dr. Chan: Yes?
Sunmi: what if-
Nurse: Dr. Chan we need to get into surgery now!!
Dr. Chan: why what happened??
Nurse: her tumor is growing fast we don't have time right now!! We need to get rid of that tumor!!
Dr. Chan: Oh shit I need to go Sunmi it's your mother!
Sunmi: Wait What??? Her tumor is growing fast now??!?
Dr. Chan: Yes now please wait in the waiting room for me
They quickly ran out and headed to the surgical room. I was so scared I didn't know what to do. My hands were shaking and tears were running down my face. I didn't leave the office I just sat there crying.

3 Hours Later

I still haven't left his office I was just sitting there crying. I was so worried. I have a scary feeling that she didn't make it. I heard footsteps coming to the door and it opened.
Dr. Chan: there you are...
Sunmi: did she make it?
Dr. Chan: we didn't make it on time...
Sunmi: What do you mean???
Dr. Chan: the tumor has gotten bigger and there was no way getting rid of it without her passing
Sunmi: then what happened for these past 3 hours???
Dr. Chan: she was freaking out and we had to calm her down and we were also trying to find a way to get rid of the tumor but there wasn't
Sunmi: what else???
Dr. Chan: I had a talk with your mother and she knows you're here and she wants to see you
Sunmi: take me to her!!!
We headed to the room where my mom was at and when we went into the room I saw her laying there watching tv. Her eyes were red and puffy I'm guessing she was crying as well.
Sunmi: mom!!
Mom: Sunmi....
Sunmi: are you okay???
Mom: I'm not gonna last long....
Sunmi: don't say that...I don't need to hear it again...
Mom: I'm sorry..
Sunmi: don't be..
Mom: I wish we had the chance to start things over again...the whole family...even your father..
Sunmi: mom?
Mom: yes?
Sunmi: how am I going to tell Wonho and y/n?
Mom: don't..
Sunmi: what??
Mom: don't tell them...keep it a secret till I'm gone..
Sunmi: but how?
Mom: tell them that I'm gonna be okay but I'm gonna stay here for a while and...
Sunmi: and?
Mom: I don't want them to see me like this...I don't want them to know about this...I don't want them to be in much more pain...
She started to cry and so did I. I held her hand and looked at her.
Sunmi: I won't tell them okay?
Mom: okay...you should get home and get some rest..
Sunmi: but I want to stay with you...
Mom: you need to take care of Wonho especially y/n you don't know what she'll do next...
Sunmi: you're right..
Mom: so go home and rest
Sunmi: Okay
Mom: try visiting me tomorrow
Sunmi: I will
I got up and kissed her forehead and left. Dr. Chan was outside waiting for me I guess.
Sunmi: oh Dr. Chan...
Dr. Chan: how are you feeling?
Sunmi: hurt...
Dr. Chan: I'm sorry we didn't make it on time...
Sunmi: don't be...
I started to cry even more and he hugged me tightly and I wrapped my arms around him and started sobbing.
Dr. Chan: shhhh it's okay Sunmi
Sunmi: I don't want to lose her too...
Dr. Chan: c'mon I'll take you out
I nodded and we headed out of the hospital. I wiped my tears and took a deep breath. I looked over at Dr. Chan and noticed he was looking at the beautiful stars smiling.
Sunmi: why are you smiling?
Dr. Chan: my father is up there
Sunmi: oh...I'm sorry to here about that
Dr. Chan: it's okay we all lose someone that we love most
Sunmi: Yeah...
Dr. Chan: oh by the way my name is Christopher Bang but people call me Chan or Bangchan or Christopher
Sunmi: nice to meet you Dr. Chan
Dr. Chan: you can call me Chan or Bangchan or Christopher other than saying Dr. Chan
Sunmi: Okay Chan
Dr. Chan: Okay
Sunmi: well I gotta go and check up on my little siblings
Dr. Chan: oh okay well I guess I'll see you later
Sunmi: Yeah
Dr. Chan: oh before you go take my number just in case if you need anything
Sunmi: oh okay
I gave him my phone and he put down his phone number and gave it back to me. He waved goodbye and headed back inside. I looked at my phone and saw the nickname he put for himself and It was Dr. Channie💖 I chuckled and headed to the car and drove back home. Once I made it home I headed inside and I saw JB sitting over at the kitchen counter. I walked over towards him and sat down. He looked over at me and smiled a bit.
JB: hey Sunmi
Sunmi: what are you doing up late?
JB: couldn't really sleep well
Sunmi: why?
JB: for some reason I felt worried about y/n
Sunmi: trust me we're all worried for her she's been through a lot
JB: I know I can tell
Sunmi: we're trying our best to make her feel better like taking pills for her anxiety and depression mostly and we tried having her take therapy but none of those work really
JB: how come?
Sunmi: well she doesn't take her pills and she doesn't like going to therapy
JB: oh
Sunmi: Yeah
JB: So How is your mom?
Sunmi: she....she's not gonna make it...
JB: what happened??
Sunmi: she's been taking drugs lately but they didn't tell what kind and...she has a tumor that grew really fast so she not gonna make it...
JB: I'm so sorry to hear that
Sunmi: it's okay
JB: how are you gonna tell y/n and Wonho?
Sunmi: she doesn't want me to tell them
JB: What??
Sunmi: Yeah..so please don't tell them as well
JB: I won't
Sunmi: thanks...
JB: no problem
Sunmi: anyways we should get to bed
JB: Yeah
Sunmi: night
JB: night
We headed to our room and headed to sleep.
