The Past and the Present

Lilith's Pov

Hubbs and the tall man walk away from us toward the direction of Megs voice. I move against my restraints "Meg run" I screamed hoping she'd listen but fear she won't I groan and try to look at Ruby. "Ruby wake up we need to get out and help Meg" I waited for a response but got silence. I sigh and try to concentrate on using my powers to break the restraints, C'mon focus on the restraint and break them.

I can feel the wind picking up, making the trees leaves fall and rustle. I stay concentrated and can feel the rope thats holding us against the tree start to creak and whine. I smile a little glad it's working, after a minute it breaks and I jump up and rub my wrist. I look around between the trees making sure the guys aren't back, not seeing them I rush to Ruby and see she's up and smiles seeing me. "We need to leave" I sigh and her face scrunches up confused. "They went after meg we have to help her" she looked down and nods. I run toward where they ran but it was quiet no screams it was to Eerily quiet, which made me feel uneasy.

We tried to be quiet while we ran trying to avoid the fallen leaves, unfortunately they were everywhere so we both slowed down. "Do you see anyone"? I whispered, Ruby shook her head "I hate to suggest this but we should spilt up, we'd cover more ground" I shook my head not liking that. "No, that's how they got us in the first place we'd be easy targets we need to stick together to even have a chance" she just nods and follows going quiet.

Meg's Pov

I start yelling their names, nighttime already upon and making the forest look creepy like a horror movie. I look around through the trees and bushes hoping they're safe and not in here, hoping I'm just worrying for nothing. I already knew I was lost but I truly didn't care I needed to know my friends were okay that's all I cared about.

I was in panic mode trying to find them, I started crying off and on through my searching. Damn it where are they I've been looking for- my thought we're cut off hearing rustling from my right. I turn and start running over thinking it was my friends but stop short of running into a guy wearing all black. I look up at the tall man and he just smiles, I start backing up keeping my eyes on him.

I suddenly feel my feet get caught and I fall and land on my back. Quickly getting up I look for the guy but he wasn't there anymore. I spin around in time to see the guy swinging something toward me, with barely any time to react I duck and move toward his left. Without hesitation I run full force at him using my weight to knock him down and try to pin him down.

He grunts when I hit him and his knife falls when we hit the ground So I grab it and put it to his throat without a second thought. He doesn't try and fight me off, give emotion or try to call for help he just looks at me with cold hard eyes. Out of breath I slowly try and steady my breathing, and lean forward trying to put more weight on his top half. "What are you doing here in the woods?" He just laughs making me go up and down making me rebalance my weight "I could ask you the same thing but I'm not the one on top of a man in the middle of the woods"

"Relax I'm just strolling through and heard someone yelling, I'm assuming that was you? Anyways I came to check it out and then well you know the rest" he adds and is up before I have the time to blink. "And I'm suppose to just trust you then huh?" I get off the ground and dust the dirt off keeping my distance.

"Well, I mean we're both still alive so that's something I guess" he looks at me with his eyebrow raised. I roll my eyes of course I can't trust him but for some reason I'm feeling almost relaxed around him despite being on guard and keeping my eye on him. "Yeah that doesn't mean anything you can easily try something" giving him a cold stare. He nods agreeing "alrighty then I'm Jesse" he sticks his hand out for me to shake, I just look at him hesitant I sigh getting annoyed. "Meg, have you seen two other girls somewhere? I'm looking for them and I don't have time to be talking to- well you"
