A Time For Beginnings (A Star Wars Fanfiction)

Chapter 1

I walked down the stone trail into my small village. I've lived here all my life, and I'd do anything to leave. My mom sometimes talks about how she got to go on missions when she was younger, helping the rebellion and all. She even came in contact with Kylo Ren, she says it was terrifying. I thought it would be somewhat cool.

I walk to the grey colored door and opened it swiftly. I was met with the smell of bread baking and meat cooking.

"Hey Mom." I say and throw myself onto the brown couch. She looks back at me and laughs.

"Did you have fun this morning?" She asks and I think back to what I did.

Maddy, Lexis and Kayla met me out by the old telegraph station a mile and half away from the brick wall around our village.

"What took you so long, Ro?" Lexis asks, her brows raised and looks concerned.

"Oh, almost got stopped by some guards from the Central Rule because I kicked one of them in the nuts and then took one of their guns." I say casually and Kayla smirks as Maddy just nods her head with a smile on her face slowly. Lexis has wide eyes, looking petrified.

"Why the hell did you do that!" She yells and smacks my shoulder. I narrow my eyes at her and growl at her. Yes, you heard me. Growl.

"Because I wanted to. Jeez." I say as I rub my shoulder, knowing she's just being sarcastic. Kayla starts going up the ladder and Maddy follows after her. Then Lexis and then me.

"You could have gone faster Macayla." Maddy says as she gets up onto the main platform.

"How should I have done that!?" She yells and throws her arms up in the air.

"I don't know, wriggle you're ass up the steps and use what your mama gave ya." Maddy says back and Kayla smirks, signaling that she just thought of something absolutely sexual.

"Let's get into the room before the First Order sees that we're here." Lexis says as she gets up the ladder. I'm not far behind her.
We enter the small room and turn on the device that tracks what ships have been in and out of our planet. Also, of what distress signals we've gotten over the night.

"Oh hey, look at that." Maddy says and points to a name. Macayla laughs hysterically and I look to Lexis with wide eyes showing that I have no idea what they're talking about. She looks the same way and we look to the two girls who are now on the floor laughing, probably crying by now.

"What's happening?" I ask and Maddy looks to me and back to Macayla.

"Ace Novak's ship is on our planet. It entered our atmosphere at 9:45 this morning." Kayla says and I run to the computer - like device. At there it was. He's here. I turn around and smirk.

"Grab your weapons, amigas! We're gonna kick some sith ass today!"  I yell and run to the ladder. I go down it so fast that my right foot got caught in the steps and I fell upside down. I looked up to my friends and cross my arms with the gun in my hands from this morning.

"Do you need help?" Alexis asks as everyone else is laughing and I unfold my arms and my gun falls, triggering to shoot.

"I don't know, Alexis! Maybe I wanna hang like this all day and wait until I get a sun burn and all the blood in my body flows to my brain and I'm just hanging here dead like a rotten tomato!" I yell with every word I get louder. All of them burst out laughing at me and I sigh. I try pushing myself up but I failed. Horribly. Next thing I knew I was floating through air and then BAM! I hit the ground like a sack of potatoes does after a rain shower. "Hurry up and get down here please. I think I may have a concussion."

They get down the ladder and we run back to the village. Maddy has a knife in her pocket, Alexis has a switch blade, and Macayla has a pistol, not that I trust her at all with a pistol.

We walk through the village and keep going until we see more than ten guards around. I hid on the other side of a building and inched myself to the corner. I peaked around it and saw him in his black cloak, beauty and awe. I get back on the other side of the wall and slap myself.

"God damn it, I got to stop thinking these things." I say and Macayla stifles a laugh. I look back around the corner and he's choking someone with his force. My mother said that's what Darth Vader did to some of his victims as well. I squint my eyes so I can see better and suddenly I feel a connection. I breathe and the words fall out. "Ace." I whisper and he looks my way. My eyes widen and he drops his hold on the guy in front of him. He puts hand out at me and I turn back to the other side of the wall. "Guys, we might have a slight porblamo." I say and then I feel his force pulling me to him.

"Rose." I hear and I shake my head.

"Run." I say.

"Why?" Alexis asks.

"What about you?" Macayla asks after her.

"Just do it. He saw me." I say and they take off running after a minute of hesitation.

I fight the pull as long as possible and then I just gave in. He pulled me to him and my eyes were wide.

"I've been looking for you." He says in his deep voice. I suddenly can't breathe and it's not because of him. I mean it is. But it isn't.

"Why?" I ask and look at his eyes. At least where his eyes are supposed to be.

"That's not important." He lets me go and I stand there fiddling with my hands. "You will come with me." He says and I look behind me.

"I can't." I say and he stops in his tracks. He turns around and lifts his hand. My eyes widen and I'm in the air unable to breathe.

"And why's that?"

"My mother is making lunch." I croak out and he stares at me for a few seconds and then let's me go yet again.

"Really? That's your excuse?" He asks and I nod my head. "Well, that's the first time I've heard that." I stand there awkwardly and absorbing this moment because even though I have no idea what he looks like underneath, doesn't mean that he isn't sexy on the outside too. "Well, go on. I'll find you later." I nod my head again and walk away. "Leave the weapon." I drop the gun and it clanks to the ground. After getting a good distance away from him, I ran.

"Yeah, I had fun." I say and smile. She looks back at me and giggles.

"You act like something amazing happened." She says intrigued. I shake my head rapidly not wanting to tell her and make her worry.

"Nope, same old same old." I say and take a seat on a bar stool. "How was your morning?"

"Busy. Berry had me working double shift at the cleaning factory." She says sighing. She acts like she hates her job, but she likes it. It's the kind of norm that makes her feel the appeal to it.

"Well, that's good I guess." I say and rub my face. "I'm gonna go to my room." I say and she nods her head. I walk into it and sit on my bed. Why in the world did I have to get out of bed this morning?
