Rohan was a hardworking boy. He wanted to become a doctor but, his family's condition was not so good. Ever since the Great Depression, finding work had become a laborious task, let alone the fact that he was only 15. Working day-in-day-out with a family to feed was enough motivation for him to keep going. He knew that that was what kept him awake at night. Every morning he would wake up and think to himself - What was the point of it all? How would he prove his worth to the world? He would contemplate all this over his evening beverage and biscuit. One day, he woke up feeling different. "What is this feeling?", he thought to himself, maybe aloud. He racked his mind and spirit to find a plausible answer to this question; it suddenly hit him, harder than any other truth ever could. He was feeling hopeful. It gave him the energy and the inner-strength that for the first time in his life, he didn't feel the need to drag his body around anymore. He hardened his resolve and told himself that he would find a way out of the mess that was his life. All it would take was everything. And so, every day after, after he finished his work, he would sit down and study his energy away. He wouldn't stop until he fell asleep. He was now sure of it; of him. He could now see his future - it was pristinely clear. He knew now that he had a sure shot chance at life, unlike before.
