Chapter 24

After everything with the house was all settled and we had all of our stuff, we then headed out to the car and began on our way to the high school. It only took around 20 minutes to get there, so we took a quick stop at McWonalds getting both of us a smoothie and chicken nuggets. We then went to the school and parked the car in a quiet tight space since there was almost no parking already.

Trey and I walked our way to where the rest of the seniors were which was behind a very large platform that must have just been set up early this morning.

It took around 20 minutes for everyone to get their correct cap and gown and to get all lined up. Trey and I were very far from each other unfortunately, and what was even more unfortunate was that Matt was right behind me. Trey and Matt shared a massive stair down before Trey went ahead of me and stood in his place. I couldn't help but be kind of scared. Of course I was going to. Just because I was with Trey and he always helped me when it came to Matt bullying me, I was still going to be terrified of him. Years of pain doesn't just go away in a year.

Everyone soon turned quiet as the principal began to talk allowed on a microphone.

"Good afternoon parents, grandparents, friends and family. Today is a very special day. Today our seniors finally go out into the world, the real world. I myself do wish all of you have a wonderful, fun, successful life once you leave here today, whether is today, tomorrow, or in the next 10 years" He spoke very fluently allowed to everyone. I was listening very closely until I felt someone tap on my shoulder.

I turn slightly to see Matt starring at me.

"What?" I asked annoying. Without even asking, Matt began to touch my gown and move the collar of it to show off my neck.

"Nice hicky, tool" he said. I grabbed my neck quickly, covering it up instantly. About 5 guys behind me began to smirk and chuckle. I groan in annoyance as I let my neck go and stood there, stepping forward slowly as people went in a line up onto the stage and then off. Everyone clapped and cheered as someone went up there. Even the huge line of seniors I stood in also clapped and cheered for their friends or significant others.

It was Treys turn now, and my heart began to race as I heard them start speaking his name. They called him up there, and so many people cheered for him. It was so loud. I guess I really was dating the hottest guy in school. Trey shook the principals hand and received his diploma all rolled up and neat. I smiled so widely and cheered allowed with everyone else. I clapped so loudly tat I hoped he could hear it. Trey turned to face the line and stared right to me.

He held up a heart with his fingers and mouthed the word I Love You to me. I blushed deeply and smiled widely. I heard a few girls and even some guys awe in the crowd of people and in line.

After that, the line continued onward. Within a minute, it was now my turn to go on stage and accept my diploma. He called my name on the microphone and I heard people clap and cheer. Unfortunately, I could tell that out of everyone else's, mine was the quietest. I sigh but walk up with a smile. I greet the principal and shake his hand as he thanks me for being such a great student. I was about to walk off and stand next to Trey on the far end of the stage like the rest of the senior class who had already gone, but he stopped me.

"Wait a second" Everyone went silent. "Now, every year the school does something for a student who is the most academically gifted. We give them a scholarship for any school of their choosing whether its art, science, math, or even engineering" He said. My heart was about to explode out of my chest from how fast it was beating. I almost couldn't breath. I looked over to Trey who was wide eyed and feeling the same way as I was. I then looked to my family and they also looked shocked and antsy. "Skylar Hains, please accept this 20,000 dollar scholarship!" He said. I widened my eyes and dropped my mouth open as he handed me a folder with my name engraved into it. I laughed with shock filling my lungs and face. I turn to trey and before I could see him, he was hugging me so tightly. He lifted me up in the air and spun me around as I now heard so many people cheer and scream, including my family. Trey set me down giving me a quick kiss, causing even more people to cheer for us. I blushed and smiled so widely as we now went to the corner of the stage and stayed there until everyone else was finished.
