It sat merely watching them shuffle about their dismal camp site. The rain caused it's black feathers to shine like oil in the pale moonlight. The ghastly tint resting upon it's small winged body. It had taken the form of a rather large crow to watch them secretly. It was resting on a thick tree branch where it had been for the past hour.

"Such insignificant little rodents.." It repeated in it's head. "I could blow them all off the face of this worthless orb if I wanted to."

However that was incorrect. For it could noticeably detect a putrid oder.
An unmistakable stink. That was instantly recognisable as it climbed up It's nasal cavities and made it's home. It was the smell of the Builder. Alpha and omega. The smell was almost vomit inducing. He was there protecting the priest and his group. Of course he was.

It was far older and far more powerful than these mere humans could even begin to fathom. It had watched from the heavens as The builder created the universe and in turn this blue rock. It had witnessed the creation of these useless pink monkeys. Given the names of Adam and Eve. Even before they came into creation it witnessed the fury of the Builder as he threw It and his followers crashing to the ground. Where it began to sleep below the earth in a firey pit.

It distinctly remembered the form of the serpent that tricked that moron Eve into biting the forbidden fruit and subsequently her idiot husband Adam. Yes. It had been there for everything.

Much to it's joy the humans had succeeded in destroying eachother and the world in which they lived. It was merely there to finish the job.

Not much had occurred in the hour which had passed. Nothing of It's interest anyway. Although it's interest peaked when It saw the priest emerge from the trees covered in dirt from burying the warning which It had left.

It listened intensively to what Joseph had to say.

"If that redneck hick thinks he can scare us he is grossly mistaken. There's no way he can always be watching us there's only one who can do that." Admittedly that did bring a chuckle to It, being let out as a shrill caw.

"However" the Priest continued. "We can't take any chances in not knowing when he's coming IF he's coming. If he is we have to be ready. So that's why I propose we send spies. Not to infiltrate the compound that would be suicide. To rest on the outskirts, hidden within earshot." He was interrupted by the insufferable worm that was Travis.

"Its suicide regardless Joe!" He yelled.

"Well what would you rather do Travis?? Wait here till Victor comes with his cavalry and delivers us to the same fate which he dealt to Monty?? Do you want that?" The old man, Robert replied. "I volunteer to go Joseph. I can't take another minute in this camp. I wanna help get us out."

Mark, the one with the pregnant wife It remembered, decides to pipe up. "I'll go too Joe. Old man's right." He said with a smug sense of pride.

"Anyone else?" Joseph beckoned.

"I'll do it.." Travis said, shocking the camp. "May as well go. I guess."

"That settles it then. Report back here within a week if you can. You'll leave tomorrow." And with that he dissapeared back into the trees.

"Idiots.." It thought. "They have no idea what they're dealing with, I'll humour them though, pretend like I don't know. They deserve some false hope. They'll feel safe. Then shall tragedy befall them."

Suddenly the stench of The builder returned invading Its senses. It was overwhelming and It was shot back into the body of Victor. Pain rocketed through Victor as he felt his misshapen bones and sickly feeling return to his brain, that was one downside to changing his form. The realisation of the state of his actual body. It had once been so beautiful, So strong. Now he was a wretch, rotting in his own body.

A bang sounded at his office door.

"Come in" he grunted.

The door opened and in walked a frail, skinny young woman being dragged by a guard. "Caught this one stealing supplies from some of my men. What should I do?"

Victor rubbed his forehead and lit up a cigar. "Leave her with me Clarence. Thank you." The soldier turned to leave.

"Oh and Clarence?" Victor called out.

"Yeah boss?" The soldier replied.

"Gather your men from all sections of the compound. I wanna have a meeting after I'm done here."

"You got it boss" and with that the soldier slammed the large wooden door behind him.

The young girl was sobbing and quivering on the ground. Victor slowly walked up to her. "Stand." He said with a menacing tone. The girl groggily got to her feet.

"We can't have people stealing from our esteemed officers now can we? That makes me look weak, are you implying that I am weak?"

"N..n..no Sir I s..swear." she blurted.

"Quiet, What's your name sweetheart?" He asked with a grin stretching across his face.

"El..Ellie..sir."

"Well Ellie, you're just in time as a matter of fact." The girl looked noticeably confused.

"F..f..for W.. what?" She asked.

"Supper." Victor responded coldly. "Look at me Ellie.. LOOK AT ME!" He bellowed.

The girl jumped and gazed into his eyes. They had taken a bright orange tint as hers fell pale and milky. She collapsed to the floor.

Victor snapped his jaw open and felt rows of teeth emerge from the black hole that was his throat, he let out a deep laugh and sank onto the girl. Feasting on her with insane hunger.

After he had finished he wiped the blood from his mouth and sat back in his chair. "Now...All powerful one..let's see how your spies taste." He laughed to himself before lighting another cigar.
