Clap

They had finally been given a break on Halloween. Min Yoongi was a busy man. With the upcoming album release, BTS didn't have time as they were herded from one photoshoot to another.

It was tiring to say the least.

The keys rattled noisily in the dead quiet of midnight as Yoongi entered his apartment. It was dark, and cold. He shivered slightly as a gust of wind flew through the open windows.

He didn't remember opening the windows. It didn't matter anyways. Not when he could see his brown piano as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. All the tiredness seemed to leave his body.

He wanted to play. The ivory white and midnight black keys seemed to beckon him closer as he went over, his fingers twitching as if getting ready to put his hands on the grand instrument and play.

The darkness prompted him and a haunting melody came to him. His fingers did a quick work of adjusting themselves to his thoughts as he tried to bring forth the sound that he could hear in his mind.

Soft haunting music began to play from the instrument. It spoke of love, of loss. It made him shiver.

The sounds of the music blended well with the wind whistling through the trees.

Suddenly, that wasn't all he could hear. He heard a clap. The sound was so jarring that it shook him out of his headspace.

Turning around quickly, he froze when he saw the outline of a woman clapping. She was intangible, but he could see her. He could feel her. He could see what seemed like tears drip down her face as she clapped for him. As she raised her hands in farewell.

And then he realised why he felt such anxiousness, the outline of the woman was familiar. It was of his mother, the one who had inspired him to play the piano. When he was a child, and his mother used to just sit there with the light outlining her body like an aura, she had felt intangible then. He had learnt to recognise her even when he couldn't see her properly.

But why did he see her now? She was safe, wasn't she? Back in Daegu, probably watching him play in one of the videos she'd so lovingly captured when he was just a child.

And then his phone started ringing.
